Today, on Wednesday, May 30, the servers of Fortnite will go offline and a new update will be applied. Patch 4.3 will bring shopping carts, but not the weekly challenges.
Actually, everyone expected the update yesterday. However, due to the Memorial Day celebrations in the USA, Epic did not release an update.
After the weekly challenges were also not properly activated, everyone assumed a patch on Thursday since the weekly challenges are supposed to be activated on that day.
Fortnite servers down this morning
However, Epic seems to have other plans – update 4.3 is coming today, on May 30.
Fortnite servers go offline today: At 10:00 AM our time (4 AM ET), the servers for Fortnite on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and iOS will go down for maintenance.
When does the patch come today and when can you play Fortnite again?
When does update 4.3 arrive? At 9:30 AM German time, matchmaking will be disabled. At 10 AM, the servers will be taken offline and the update will be applied. If everything goes according to plan, you will be able to start again around noon.
What’s included in update 4.3 for the Battle Royale mode? Shopping carts – Much more is not known yet. They will likely serve as vehicles and be usable by one or two players.
How the controls work and what limitations the shopping carts have is currently unknown. There are already some of these carts scattered across the map – including on the “Kart-Bahn” east of Retail Row. Will races actually be held here after the update?
In addition to the shopping carts, there will likely also be bug fixes. Currently particularly annoying:
- On consoles, sometimes challenges cannot be scrolled through. To work around this problem, you need to select a skin. Then the challenges can be flipped through normally again.
- Sometimes, after jumping out of the Battle Bus, you are sent in a completely different direction than intended.
For the weekly challenges, you will have to wait until tomorrow, Thursday, regardless of the update.

What does update 4.3 bring for “Save the World” players? Based on the roadmap released by Epic, the PvE faction can look forward to the following content:
- A new assault rifle
- The second part of the Block-Buster event
- The Port-a-Fort item
- More gold when increasing the difficulty of a mission
- More legendary flux in the shop
- Voice chat for PC
What do you think? How will the shopping carts actually work?
