What’s happening today in Fortnite? The update 12.60 will be applied today on all platforms. Fortnite Status announced the patch on Twitter.
Update 10:15 AM: The update 12.60 is now live. We will show you in the German patch notes what has changed in the game.
For the first time in Fortnite’s history, a “.60” update is being released in a season. Previously, the last updates of a season were always “.50”.
The update could bring new content and possibly changes to the map. But before players can go on an exploration tour, the servers will be taken down.
Fortnite servers will be taken down – when and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: The downtime will begin at 8:00 AM German time. At 7:30 AM, you can join a new round for the last time. After that, the servers will be unreachable and Fortnite will be down.
How long will the maintenance take? Based on the experiences of the past weeks and months, the work should be completed by around noon at the latest.

When will the patch notes be released? Presumably, no patch notes for Epic Games’ Battle Royale mode will be published again.

What new content does the update 12.60 bring?
What new features will there be in the Battle Royale mode? In the announcement from Fortnite Status, “The Agency” is mentioned. There might be map changes there. Here’s what we can expect:
- EP boost that Epic announced (via epicgames.com)
- Bug fixes
- Return of pickaxes and gliders that were removed

What does the update bring for the Save the World mode? It is already known what we can expect for Save the World. These new features will be introduced with update 12.60:
- Changes to weapon fire rates
- Return of a pirate weapon
- 2 new pirate heroes in the event shop

After the update, watch for “The Agency” on the Fortnite map if you have chosen Team Ghost or Shadow. Your choice could bring changes to the map as you can influence the story of Season 2. Since Fortnite Status provided a hint about this, it is even more likely that something will happen there.
