Upcoming balance adjustments in Battle Royale in v39.40

With the next gameplay update, several weapons will be improved through new adjustments:

• Crash Pad Jr. will be removed and Shockwave Grenades will be available again in Unranked Battle Royale in v39.40. We will be developing the movement meta with fun, healthy, and energetic options that allow for exciting plays and decisive moments. And yes … we have some very cool ideas for mobility in the pipeline that we would like to introduce to you in a future game update 👀🔥
• Submachine guns will be significantly improved overall. For some time now, the lines between submachine guns and assault rifles in the typical player loadouts have been blurring. With this update, we expect submachine guns to become faster and nimbler, making them a viable option for close combat with fun run-and-gun abilities.
• The Holo Rush SMG will deal more damage per shot, have a larger magazine, and be quicker to handle, allowing for faster aiming and shooting.
• The Flex SMG will deal more damage, have a larger magazine, and be quicker to handle to keep up with other SMGs in this category.
• The Dual Micro SMGs will deal more damage, have a larger magazine, and be slightly quicker to handle.
  We continue to work on optimizing and developing the identity of SMGs in the loot pool, so keep sending us your feedback!
• Tactical AR and Enforcer AR both deal more damage. We continue to work on closing the gap between Deadeye AR and other weapons to provide you with more meaningful choices for your loadout.
• Tactical Pistol deals more damage, retains damage better over longer ranges, and aims better.
• The Sovereign Shotgun fires slightly faster when aiming, providing a smoother gameplay experience.
• Stealth Splash lasts significantly longer and you can carry more of them (Lock On Rifles?! 😉).
• The health of the All-Terrain Kart will be increased to make it more resilient across all game modes.

Fixed bugs:

• We have released a hotfix to significantly reduce crashes. On PCs, there may still be instabilities in DirectX 11 rendering mode. We will temporarily disable this setting for older GPUs in the next update. We recommend PC players switch to DirectX 12.
• A bug with the assault rifle “Deadeye” has been fixed, which allowed players to fire prematurely when equipping the weapon.
• An empty “Knocked!” popup will no longer incorrectly appear when in the storm.
• Older versions of the HUD/UI will no longer persist in Battle Royale after playing a Creative experience.
• Materials now drop correctly upon elimination in Ranked Reload.
• Ballistic Ranked Quests can now be properly continued and completed.

More bug fixes in v39.40 (besides new content):

• The volume of sound effects for mantling and hurdling will be reset to normal levels.
• The sounds of weapons will return to being correctly played in BR after a Creative/UEFN match.
• A problem has been fixed where the recoil of some weapons was incorrectly resetting the crosshair to the original firing point, causing targeting issues.
• Several issues with emotes, lockers, and audiovisual elements that arose after playing Crown Jam have been fixed.
• Delays navigating the lobby, the locker, and the emote wheel have been fixed. In addition, we are adding a new “Favorites” tab to the emote wheel so you can quickly access more fluid movements.
• Vehicle buttons will now be displayed when an old HUD layout is used on mobile devices.

Issues currently under investigation:

• We have received your feedback that latency is higher than normal. The problem is difficult to pinpoint, but we are actively investigating it and will release more information soon!
• Reload players suddenly cannot build or fire Morphite weapons, even if there are still bullets in the magazine. We are investigating the issue to find a solution.
• We have seen posts in the community highlighting inconsistencies with “Hurdle & Mantle” where interaction prompts do not display as expected or inputs near windows and objects are not registered. We want this to work more smoothly and reliably.
• We are investigating issues that tournament participants have experienced when loading tournament games, as well as a bug with the placement of the score display in the UI, which we will fix in a future game update.
• The storm icon next to the mini-map does not indicate whether the storm is shrinking or stationary. We will fix this in a future game update.
• We are aware that interactions may not work anymore after editing the default layout, especially with controller inputs, and we are working on a solution to this issue.
