How do you use the treasure map and find the treasure chest?
If you loot the rare map from the ground or from a chest, you will then have it in your inventory and can activate it.

Here’s how the map leads you to the treasure: Every time you select the map, a red line will briefly appear, guiding you towards the treasure. So, select the map again whenever you need the help line. You can also keep the map selected and press the button you usually use to shoot or use an item.
Additionally, a bright golden beam will appear in the world at the location where the treasure is hidden. This is similar to the blue beam when you mark a spot on a map, just in gold.
Here’s how to dig up the treasure: Once you reach the requested location, a big X will await you on the ground.
Now take out the pickaxe (the harvesting tool) and dig on the X. It takes a few swings for the chest to slowly come to light. Once the chest is visible, you can open it and unpack your legendary treasure.
Is the treasure hunt in Fortnite worth it? In our test example, we had 2x SCAR, 2x submachine gun, and a slurp juice as loot. So, the treasure hunt pays off! We already assumed before the release that the treasure map could fundamentally change Fortnite.
