Fortnite tested a new game mode on Friday, but “House Battle” was almost immediately disabled. The mode with pump guns and jetpacks was live for less than an hour before being turned off. The mode returned to Fortnite on Saturday morning
Only 60 minutes: The new mode “House Battle” was active for not even an hour in Fortnite: Battle Royale before it was disabled. The mode was set for “Pure Gold”, ran for an hour, and was then called off. Now “Pure Gold” is active again. In addition, 50vs50, the favorite mode of many players, is still running: The mode is even supposed to be added permanently to Fortnite.
House Battle Solo – disappeared after a few minutes?
A problem: The mode “House Battle” is not supposed to be gone permanently but was temporarily put on hold due to a problem. This was reported by Epic on Twitter.
The mode “House Battle” is expected to return as soon as the problem is resolved. Why the mode was exactly disabled is currently not known. At least not officially. Users on the reddit forum are complaining about issues: “House Battle Solo” would have simply disappeared after two matches, leaving only Duo and Squad active, someone reports.
Balance issues: Other users are complaining that the mode is overall pretty stupid. Users simply built sky bases using the “Stairway to heaven” tactic. These sky bases cannot be destroyed with the shotgun. But what about the jetpacks?
This is how Close Combat works: The mode is supposed to give players only shotguns as weapons – additionally, jetpacks spawn more frequently. Players draw jetpacks and heavy shotguns from chests and collect regular pump guns from the ground. The planned duration for a match in “House Battle” is only 15 minutes – the storm approaches faster in the mid and later phases of the game than in a normal game.
Update – Back again: Apparently, Epic has solved the problem and reactivated the mode early Saturday morning our time. Have fun flying and shooting!
Here we have described the correct use of jetpacks:
