With the content update to 4.2, the jetpacks made their way to Fortnite: Battle Royale. However, they did not come alone, as dataminers have discovered. In fact, up to nine different backpacks could arrive in the near future – and the list is quite impressive.
One of the backpack items has already been mistakenly added to the game – the Storm Sensor. With the Storm Sensor, it was possible to predict the location of the next storm cycle. Epic has since removed the backpack.
Its mere presence, however, indicates that Epic wants to move toward backpacks that serve various purposes.
How do the backpacks work? Thanks to the accidental appearance of the Storm Sensor, we at least know that only one backpack can be carried at a time. If you already have a back covering and find a new one, you can only swap it out.
The backpacks take up valuable space in your inventory, so you always have to weigh whether you want to “sacrifice” that space. This, of course, also depends on the quality and ability of the found backpack. According to the dataminer TwoEpicBuddies, we at least know which backpacks are still in the game files.
These backpacks could come to Fortnite in the coming weeks
The dataminer TwoEpicBuddies has unearthed the following backpacks from the depths of the game data:
- Boost Jump Pack – This backpack is likely to work similarly to bounce stones and significantly improve jumping.
- Carmine Pack – We can imagine little about this one so far. Translated, “carmine” means crimson.
- Eye of the Storm Tracker – The already known storm sensor.
- Glider/Glider Pack – This backpack seems to have the glider integrated. This could help during falls from great heights if the glider could be deployed at the push of a button.
- Intel Pack – The English word “intel” is an abbreviation for “intelligence”. This word is often used in intelligence contexts. The backpack might serve to overhear other players from greater distances (thus spying as an intelligence agency does).
- Medic Pack – The slurp juice in backpack form? The Medic Pack is likely to regenerate health at the push of a button – up to a certain maximum.
- Missile Battery – Possibly a rocket shower that you can rain down on your enemies? Yes, please!
- Test Pack – The test pack will be a simple placeholder.
Whether and when these backpacks will come to the game is not known. Changes to the items are, of course, not excluded.
