Update, June 9, 12:50 PM: There are now more details about new features of the fresh Season 3. Wilderness
will bring some new weapons, abilities, and more. Everything that is known will be listed here now:
New weapons in Chapter 4 Season 3
The new season brings:
- The Infrared DMR – See your enemies even in thick jungle.
- Drum rifle – Rifle with a large magazine, strong against opponents and structures.
- Kinetic boomerang – Returns after throw. Can also be recalled early, causing a small explosion.
- Cybertron cannon – fires a powerful “explosion projectile”
- Wild wasp glass – Throw a glass with wasps that attack your opponents.
- You can protect yourself from the wasps by jumping into the water or covering yourself with mud.
Additionally, the following weapons return:
- Drum shotgun
- Combat machine pistol
- Havoc pump gun
- Automatic expert shotgun
- Silenced Havoc assault rifle
- Red dot assault rifle
- Submachine gun
- Tactical pistol
- Heavy sniper rifle
- Drunken cannon (exotic)
- Looted breacher shotgun (exotic)

New vehicles in Season 3
- You can tame Velociraptors in the jungle to ride them
- You can also find raptor eggs that hatch into a Velociraptor, which then belongs to you for the match
- You can slide faster in mud and use it for camouflage.
- You can grind on vines to move quickly while using your weapons.
- You can climb into the treetops of the jungle to gain a height advantage.
- Plants: You can now use new plants. If you shoot them, they have an effect.
- The bomb flower explodes
- The stink flower emits toxic gas
- Slurp plants heal
- With jump flowers, you can bounce around without fall damage
New reality extensions (abilities)
These are new abilities you can unlock that will be randomly assigned in the match. They are:
- Animal Companion: Provides infrared vision and restores health while riding animals
- Wild wasp projectile: You get some wild wasp glasses, plus more with each elimination
- Utility sprint: Knockback effect when using vines, grind rails, ziplines, or high-rise aids
- Slide and slam: Brings shotgun shells while sliding
- Fast shotgun reloading: Reload your shotguns faster
- Natural reloading skill: Assault rifles reload significantly faster when the magazine is empty
- Medium ammo acquisition: Immediately grants medium ammo as well as additional when you open containers

New biome on map in Season 3: As teased on the official Fortnite channel on Twitter, the name “Wilds” will be programmatic, as you can expect a wild environment on the map.
