Shortest season ever in Fortnite ends after one month
How long is the season supposed to last? Shiina, a long-time insider and leaker in the Fortnite scene, has an accurate quote regarding leaks. Note that this is still a leak, but many hints support the shared information.
Each season has updates that are released over the coming weeks. Usually, there are four major updates and smaller patches in between. In the case of Season 4, there were three major updates, which is why the version number of the latest update is v26.30.
Shiina (via x.com) has already had insight into the upcoming updates and even knows when they are supposed to be released. You can expect the following dates in Season 5:
- New season (v27.00): Starts on November 3rd
- First update (v27.10): Starts on November 21st
- Last update for the final event (v21.11): Starts on November 28th
If these dates are correct, Season 5 would last about a month, depending on how long the event timer would run. Moreover, Shiina talks about the last update, which is supposed to contain many event files. This could be a major live event.
The presumed shortness of Season 5 is further supported by the upcoming Battle Pass.
What does the Battle Pass look like? The Battle Pass of Season 5 is supposed to be halved (via x.com). Instead of the usual 100 tiers, there will only be 50 tiers, and the number of skins will also be halved.
So far, there are supposed to be four skins that players can earn through the Battle Pass:
- A Peely remix skin
- A Knight remix skin
- A Renegade Raider remix skin
- A Ragnarok remix skin
The shortness of the Battle Pass might also explain the short duration of the season. It wouldn’t make sense to release a large Battle Pass if no one could level it to its maximum tier in such a short time.
Whether the price of the Battle Pass will also be halved remains to be seen. Each Battle Pass with 100 tiers costs 950 V-Bucks, so it would make sense for the Battle Pass to cost less.
However, it will still take some time until the release. If you haven’t seen the new map of Chapter 4 Season 5 yet, this article will be just right for you: Fortnite: Leak shows new map from Season 5 – Fulfills the wish players have had for years
