In Fortnite: Battle Royale, Season 5 introduces a new Battle Pass. Learn everything about the items, outfits, skins, emotes, and the price here.
New season, new pass: Since July 12, 2018, the Battle Pass for Season 5 in Fortnite: Battle Royale is available. This means you will have plenty to do over the next 10 weeks to earn new skins and emotes.
All information about the Season 5 Battle Pass for Fortnite: Battle Royale
How much does the new pass cost? The Season 5 Battle Pass still costs 950 V-Bucks, which is about 9.50 euros. Epic will likely not change this price anytime soon. If you pay 2,400 V-Bucks, you will receive additional tiers right from the start of the game. If you don’t want to unlock tiers through gameplay, you can also unlock them immediately for 150 V-Bucks (1.50 euros) each.
Savvy players can play for free: If you were thrifty last season and saved your V-Bucks, you probably earned more than 950 V-Bucks in Season 4 and can thus get the new Pass without any additional costs.
How many tiers does the new pass have? Season 5 once again features 100 tiers that you can gradually unlock with experience points and weekly challenges.
How long does it take to unlock everything? According to Epic, it takes between 75 and 150 hours of gameplay to unlock everything.
All about the skins, items, and emotes in Season 5
How many skins and items are there in Season 5? There are again seven special skins that you can unlock in the Battle Pass. Two of them, Drift (Tier 1) and Ragnarök (Tier 100), can be further enhanced with masks, capes, and glam.
But no mask accessories: Apparently, masks are permanently tied to certain skins and cannot be swapped freely among the skins, as initially assumed. Too bad.
In the following table, you can see what else is available in Season 5:
- 5 emotes, one of which is epic
- 15 spray paints
- 4 gliders, including the Viking ship
- 2 harvesting tools
- 3 back bling items. The inflatable unicorn is especially popular!
- 5 fall animations, including the long-awaited toilet paper rolls
- 1,500 V-Bucks which is enough for the next Battle Pass in Season 6 if you save
Skin upgrades for Drift and Ragnarök
New customizable skins: As in Season 4, you can enhance the skins Drift and Ragnarök. For Drift, there is already a dedicated challenge line. You will likely get Ragnarök when you reach level 100 in the Pass and unlock the skin.
Skin progression now with XP and no longer just in Season 5: Unlike in Season 4, you no longer have to reach a specific season level for new skin upgrades. The total earned XP points are sufficient to achieve outfit upgrades. According to the patch notes for Season 5, you can continue these challenges even after Season 5.
New feature of Season 5 – toys and balls!
This isn’t new – What else is there? Indeed, the developers at Epic have introduced a new type of item: toys! These are various balls with which you can perform mini-games. Among other things, you can shoot basketball hoops or practice teeing off in golf.
6 balls in the Battle Pass: Ideal for passing the painfully long seconds before each match or just messing around in gameplay. Overall, there are six different balls to play with in the Season 5 Battle Pass.
