What is Fortnite planning for E3 and when can we see it? We have all the information about Fortnite at E3 2018.
ProAm tournament is the big E3 event: Fortnite is planning a major event at E3 2018, a 100-person “ProAm” tournament. “ProAm” means that amateurs and professionals play together. 50 teams consisting of one professional and one amateur will compete against each other.
- Professionals in this case are top eSports players, YouTubers, or Twitch streamers.
- The “amateurs” are professional athletes (mostly basketball players and UFC fighters), actors, musicians, wrestlers, or other celebrities who are gaming enthusiasts.

The top pairs: In professional sports in the USA, the topic “Fortnite” has been prevalent in recent weeks. Many of the top athletes are in their 20s and 30s and have a lot of free time between games and training – they spend it playing video games. Thus, the lineup for the Fortnite tournament features five NBA players, an NFL player, three UFC fighters, and a wrestler. Eighteen actors are participating, four singers, and five artists for “electronic dance music,” what used to be called a “DJ” in barbaric times.
- Streamer Ninja and music producer Marshmello
- Esports pro TSM_Myth and NBA superstar Paul George
- Markiplier and actor Joel McHale (Community)
- Gotaga and UFC fighter Demetrious Johnson
- The controversial YouTuber Ali-A and Fallout Boy’s bassist, Pete Wentz
- CDNTHE3RD and wrestler Xavier Woods
The 100 players will battle each other in a regular 100-person match, which will be broadcast live.
Spectacle starts Tuesday night
When can we see it? The 100-person match starts on the night of Tuesday, June 12, to Wednesday, June 13, at 12:30 AM our time.
After-show party: After the tournament, there will be the “Party Royale,” which requires an official invitation that can be won at the Fortnite booth. The booth is open from June 12 to June 14 – it is in the South Hall of the LA Convention Center at booth 2723.
Is Epic announcing the port of Fortnite on the Switch or the Android release?
Are any major announcements expected?
Officially, nothing is known about that. But at least three announcements are pending:
- Currently, the port of Fortnite on the “Nintendo Switch” is up in the air. Whether Epic Games will announce it during E3 2018 is uncertain. Epic Games is now capable of anything.
- It’s likely that they will announce when Fortnite will come to Android phones. This should happen soon – the Android launch of Fortnite is planned for the “summer.”
- One could wildly speculate that they might announce “Save the World will be free”. That’s also supposed to happen in 2018, but there are no signs of that.
- It might also be that Epic announces a new weapon, the new “Creative” mode, or something else relatively “normal.”
It’s quite possible that Epic Games will let others handle the big announcements at E3 and just want to celebrate a bit themselves. They certainly have reason to celebrate. After all, Fortnite is apparently one of the biggest games in the world. 2018 has so far been all about the shooter.
