Nightingale is a new survival game for PC by former developers from BioWare. It is set to be released in 2022; the first tests will start in the coming months.
This is Nightingale: The survival game transports you to a Victorian fantasy world (“Gaslamp Fantasy”), where you take on the role of a Realmwalker. In this world, humanity is threatened by a magical catastrophe, and to escape it, you embark on a journey through a labyrinth of many worlds to find a place where humans can survive: Nightingale.
However, you are not alone in these worlds. Monstrous creatures and the nightmarish Fae will make your life difficult, and you must prove your skills in combat, crafting, and building to stand against them.
The game is being developed by the “SpatialOS wonder company” Improbable and Inflexion Games, whose employees were previously at the RPG studio BioWare. You can watch the first trailer for the game here:
What does the gameplay offer? Since Nightingale is a survival game for PC, it mainly revolves around your survival in the harsh world that you share with other players. To achieve this, the developers provide you with an extensive crafting system that allows you to create tools, weapons, and armor.
You can use the tools and weapons to defend yourself against monsters and Fae while exploring the variety of different worlds, which become more dangerous as you progress. They offer different biomes such as classic forests, swamps, and deserts.
With the crafted tools, you can also build houses and settlements where you can retreat and defend yourself from enemies. Growing fruits and vegetables will also be possible.
You can team up with other players in settlements to jointly storm the portals into unknown worlds.
Will there be PvP? Currently, there is no information on whether there will be possible PvP modes or open PvP. However, the focus of the game seems to be more on crafting and collaboratively building houses and settlements.
Therefore, it would theoretically be a game that fans of survival and PvE should keep an eye on.
How can you participate? Although Nightingale does not yet have a fixed release date, it is expected to be released for PC in 2022.
If you want to check out the game, you can register for playtests on the official site. The first tests will start in the coming months, so keep an eye out.
