NoWay is once again taking on a challenge in League of Legends. This time, he’s about to give up because the game is no longer fair, even though the season is really “cool”.
What challenge is NoWay taking on? NoWay wants to step out of his comfort zone and play a new role up to the highest rank. As a jungler, he is currently trying to make it to the top, if it weren’t for the significant LP problem in the high ranks.
LP are league points that are gained from a win or lost from a defeat. With enough LP, you eventually rank up.
What is the problem? In a new YouTube video, NoWay talks about his current jungle challenge. He is on the verge of quitting if it doesn’t get better for him.
The biggest problem is the LP inflation in his rank range. NoWay provides an example and shows the LP gain from his jungler Agurin from the time with NNO, the German “retirement team”. According to NoWay, so-called legacy accounts, which have been playing for longer, currently gain more LP. New accounts, like NoWay’s for the challenge, get less LP.
What makes it even more unfair is the fact that there is little LP loss for Agurin when he loses, while NoWay loses more. The numbers for both players look like this:
- Agurin: 30 LP for a win and -10 for a loss.
- NoWay: 21 LP for a win and -19 LP for a loss.
NoWay further states about the current LP inflation: “The system is unfair for new players.”
NoWay finds the season really “cool”, but matchmaking is a problem
What does NoWay say about the season and matchmaking? According to NoWay, the new season is simply really “cool”. He cites the current balancing of many champions and items as the reason. However, there is another problem in high elo, which is the area where the really good players are playing.
According to NoWay, this is also the first season that is unplayable for him due to matchmaking. One reason is a new rule that allows high-elo players to play as a duo team. This was not possible before and can only be played solo.
He again provides an example where Agurin, as a rank 10 player, plays with a rank 5 player and wins many rounds. With the high LP gain from the win, the upper limit of LP shoots up.
What would be the solution to the problem? NoWay believes there should be an LP reset. He fears that the LP gap within the high ranks could become too large. According to him, players would need to gain around 2,800 LP to climb from one of the lowest ranks up to Master.
NoWay also says that if high-elo players keep climbing at this pace, LP could go as high as 6,000, meaning Master players would effectively have to climb the entire ranked ladder a second time. These numbers are only examples used by NoWay.
Meanwhile, while high-elo players like Agurin continue to climb higher and higher on the ranked ladder, the first major tournament of 2026 has come to an end. There, one of the worst champions in LoL dominated the pros. One player explains why he is so strong: One of the worst champions in LoL dominates the first major tournament 2026 for the pros
