Borderlands 3 has released a new hotfix for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This time, all four Vault Hunters are being adjusted: Moze, FL4K, Amara, and Zane. There are buffs, nerfs, and some bug fixes.
What’s included in the update: The highlights of the new hotfix are probably the buffs and nerfs for all Vault Hunters . However, there is more in the new update:
- Buffs for Amara
- Buffs for FL4K, partially reversing previous nerfs
- Nerfs that weaken Moze’s “One-Shot” build
- Bug fixes/buffs for Zane
- Some buffs that are not class-specific
The changes are intended to improve balance and fix bugs that have crept in over time.
New hotfix for Borderlands 3 – detailed changes
Changes to Amara: Amara receives a significant buff and a change that is essentially a bug fix:
- “Momentum” now grants you a bonus to reload speed per rank.
- “Phasegrasp” can now be applied to more distant targets and resets the cooldown instantly if the ability misses.
According to Gearbox, this should encourage players to try out more weapons with Amara than just submachine guns and shotguns.
Changes to FL4K: In the last update, a cooldown of 2 seconds was added to FL4K’s ability “Leave No Trace.” This caused frustration for some players and categorized the ability as “unplayable.”
According to the developers, such a long cooldown was not intended. It has now been reduced to 0.3 seconds.
Changes to Moze: Moze is receiving more extensive adjustments. After the last patch only addressed her ability to throw endless grenades, it’s now time to adjust one of her most popular builds – the “One-Shot” build:
- The “Bloodletter” modifications necessary for the build have been adjusted
- The delay for the charge has been increased by 150%.
- The charge rate has been reduced by 50%.
- “Bridge the Gap” now adds shock damage as intended.
- “Devastator” now has an inherent cooldown of 0.3 seconds (previously 2 seconds).
With these adjustments, the “One-Shot” build should now be significantly harder to play. However, her ability to throw endless grenades is back in the game. This issue will be addressed again at a later time.
Changes to Zane: There are several changes for Zane, but they primarily correct abilities that were previously faulty:
- “Death is Everywhere” should now correctly affect the corresponding kill skills.
- When Zane swaps positions with his Digi-Clone, the damage is now increased by 130% (previously 75%).
Many of Zane’s bugs that currently make him weaker than the other Vault Hunters have not yet been addressed. Whether this bug fix helps remains to be seen.
Other changes: In addition to changes to the Vault Hunters, some weapons have been modified. Some weapons now deal more damage:
- The Lob
- Creeping Death
- Carrier
- Gunerang
