The adventures of Final Fantasy XIV start a new chapter. With Dawntrail, there will be some new features, including two new classes. MyMMO author Jasmin Beverungen wishes for two specific classes.
After the saga around Hydaelyn and Zodiark ended with Endwalker, I am now eagerly looking forward to the new Dawntrail expansion. It promises a nice graphic update, new areas, and two new classes.
Not much is known about the new classes so far. One of the classes is supposed to be a melee fighter, the other a mage.
Many fans suspect that FF14 producer Naoki Yoshida gave a hint about the new classes with his T-shirt. In the past, he has hinted at new content and classes with his shirts, which is why the big guessing game began on social media.
I personally would be especially happy about a new class and would probably even give up my main class for it.

Why I really want to tame animals
My absolute favorite class that I have missed since I started in Final Fantasy XIV is the Beastmaster.
This class appears in Final Fantasy XI and many other spin-offs of the series. With this class, it is possible to bind several enemy monsters for a certain time and let them fight for you.
That’s what I actually hoped for from my Summoner. In the beginning, I chose Summoner as my main class because I thought I could actually summon monsters to the field.
The Summoner does have a Carbuncle, and since its latest change, it can summon Garuda, Ifrit, and Titan. However, the latter are not as present as companions that would permanently support me in battle.
They are only summoned for a specific period and then disappear again. I can’t form such an emotional bond with the summons. I imagine it differently with monsters that are permanently on the battlefield.
I like it when I’m not alone on the field and have creatures by my side that fight for me. Accordingly, the perfect class for me would be a Beast or Animal Tamer who binds monsters to themselves. This way, I could travel through the world of FF14 with my zoo of animals without ever being completely alone.

The Beastmaster could even develop a bit further compared to its appearance in Final Fantasy XI: It would be great if the animals were permanently bound and I could give them names or skins, similar to what is done with the Chocobo.
We can dye the bird by mixing different ingredients and summon it in battle; why shouldn’t that work for our own beasts as well?
Another glimmer of hope came with the Island Paradise. Away from Final Fantasy XIV, I absolutely love playing farming simulations. Accordingly, my joy over the Island Paradise was immense, where I can run a farm and keep animals, detached from the main game. But as soon as I leave the Island Paradise, I leave my animals behind on the island.
I would build a much more emotional bond with my monsters if I could also take them outside the island and summon them in battle.
However, the animals should not do all the work for me in battle. A battle system like in Pokémon, where I would only give commands to my monsters, would be too monotonous for me in the long run. I would also like to apply some blows, kicks, or spells to defeat opponents. My monsters should only support me in that.
These hints exist for the new class
The Beastmaster could indeed be related to Naoki Yoshida’s T-shirt. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were illustrated by Kevin B. Eastman, among others. If you take away the first name, you are left with “Beastman”.
If you think that’s too far-fetched: Yoshida announced the Samurai class in the past with a Spider-Man shirt. The director of the Spider-Man films is named Samuel Raimi. Samuel Raimi… Sam Raimi… Samurai… Do you understand?
In the community, other classes are also highly regarded. The green color of the turtles could for example indicate a Green Mage. There is also a video game called “Turtles in Time” regarding the Ninja Turtles – some speculate that there is a Time Mage behind it.
A Artist as a new class would also be conceivable, as the turtles were named after famous artists. Additionally, the Corsair or Pirate is highly regarded. But which classes will ultimately win out remains to be seen.
