Tonight, on March 18, there is finally news about the PlayStation 5 (PS5). Sony has announced a stream. We will show you what fans can expect there.
It has been announced: There is not much information about the stream tonight. Sony states that Mark Cerny, the lead system architect of the PS5, “will give a deep insight into the system architecture of the PS5”. They announced this via Twitter yesterday.
But what exactly could happen? Many fans think it will only be PR talk, but others believe and hope that finally, the hardware information could follow that has been long awaited.

Are new facts finally coming? Of course, all fans of the new PlayStation hope for that. It is likely, since the biggest direct competitor Microsoft just announced the technical specifications of their new Xbox Series X a few days ago. A response from Sony would therefore be conceivable and quite reasonable.
Similarly, reddit user LuxVeritatis sees it. He writes: “Very interesting that they do this after the details of the Xbox Series X were revealed – is this a sign of confidence that the PS5 is equal to or better than the XSX?”
Other fans agree, as it would certainly be a bad move by Sony if the PS5 has worse specs than the new Xbox and is then presented almost directly after the reveal of Microsoft in a direct comparison.
Is it just PR talk? Other fans do not expect much from the stream. This is also supported by the top comment from the PS5 subreddit on this topic. There, Calactic suggests that he can already imagine Sony’s presentation and ironically states: “We are here today to present the name of the new PS5 controller. It is called Dualshock 5. That is all.”
This alludes to the fact that while we have known about the new PlayStation for a long time, the most important information is still awaited. For example, the logo of the PS5 was presented with great effort, which hardly differed from the PS4 logo. So, the stream tonight does not spark hope for really solid news for everyone.
