In FIFA 23, you could purchase a Heroes Pack briefly on October 8. It cost 25,000 coins and could only be purchased once per account. However, it was already deactivated after just 15 minutes. The players who couldn’t buy it are now angry because it was the best pack ever offered in FIFA.
What was in the pack? A guaranteed FUT Hero. And each of these players is impressive:
- The worst card is Jorge Campos, a goalkeeper with an 87 rating and a value of 20,000 coins – thus a relatively small loss compared to the purchase price.
- At the top is David Ginola with a value of 1.75 million coins. In total, 7 players have a higher value than 500,000 coins.
- Also included is the German legend Rudi Völler.
Those who purchased the Heroes Pack could also list the card on the FUT transfer market, as the card was surprisingly tradable. And since only Jorge Campos was under the 25,000 coins paid for the pack, it was a nearly risk-free investment.
Players therefore refer to the pack as the strongest of all time. Too strong, it seems EA thought.
The Heroes Pack was probably a mistake, but it really angers players
What happened after the pack’s release? Shortly after the Heroes Pack was released, it was deactivated again. According to a post on reddit, it was online for just about 15 minutes. Those who managed to grab a pack during that time were very lucky.
What do the players say? They are quite angry because those who didn’t log in immediately missed out. However, the lucky ones could secure a strong player cheaply or convert a few coins into significantly more. Some players also complain that their card has lost a lot of value due to the action, effectively causing them to lose coins indirectly.
Players are now demanding justice:
- Hazard1900 writes: “It would be disgusting if they don’t give us all a Hero now.”
- Ballaman200 calls the action “the biggest mistake EA has made since the introduction of FUT.”
At the same time, this action also carries anger from other areas. Many players complain that bug fixes can sometimes take weeks, while a pack that was only purchasable once and offered all players the same opportunity was removed after just a few minutes, making it truly unfair. Meanwhile, some players are demanding compensation for the pack in FIFA 23.
