The FIFA 23 release is just around the corner. Which players could become really good at launch? We are looking at some exciting cards.
When will FIFA 23 be released? The FIFA 23 release is scheduled for next week, along with the early access to the game. However, with the web app, the transfer market in Ultimate Team has already opened, and players can start building their first teams now.
It will be exciting to see which players become early favorites this year. Of course, cards like those of Kylian Mbappé, Neymar, Heung Min Son, and other top stars will be included. However, these will be out of reach for most players, especially at launch.
However, even if the overall rating does not already scratch 90, players can still fit well into the FIFA gameplay. This includes candidates such as the following.
Antony
This is what makes Antony special: The new signing from Manchester United brings two exciting components to team building. As a Brazilian in the Premier League, he is likely to serve as a chemistry supplier for many popular players in the new chemistry system.
Additionally, he impresses with absolutely strong offensive values: 93 speed and 86 dribbling speak volumes, and he also has 5-star skills. Antony will be ideally suited to weaving through the opponent’s defense. Only his finishing could be better.
Despite an 82 rating, Antony is likely to be among the top cards at the FUT launch. But he won’t be cheap.
Rafael Leão
This is what makes Rafael Leão special: Looking only at the ratings, Rafael Leão has quite similar arguments as Antony. Speed and good dribbling are always a good combination, but in terms of skills, he is one star weaker and has “only” 4 stars.
An advantage for Rafael Leão is that he plays in Serie A – and it is traditionally somewhat cheaper than the players from the Premier League. So he might be a bit cheaper at launch – but here, too, one should not expect a bargain.
However, Rafael Leão offers a really good chemistry foundation if you want to look at more players from Serie A. Like for example…
Fikayo Tomori
This is what makes Tomori special: When you see Tomori in the opponent’s defense, you can expect a challenging match. The Milan center-back is quick and equipped with very good defensive and physical stats. Despite being in Serie A, Tomori is likely to be quite expensive at the start.
Nevertheless, he could be quite interesting – especially if you are looking at the same club for chemistry reasons. Because alongside Tomori and Leão, there are also exciting top cards like Theo Hernandez and Sandro Tonali playing for last season’s Italian champions.
Allan Saint-Maximin
This is what makes Allan Saint-Maximin special: In recent years, “ASM” has been one of the most popular players in FUT, especially in the early phase. He is also a brutally agile dribbler, excelling with 5-star skills and great stats.
As a Frenchman in the Premier League, he also provides a very good chemistry foundation for your team – after all, many more top players come from France. Like for example…
Jules Koundé
This is what makes Koundé special: Koundé is one of the best center-backs you can find in the Spanish first division – especially when looking at FIFA stats. He has very similar values to Tomori and is likely to give many strikers a headache.
Koundé is also likely to cost a high price on the transfer market due to his good cards and French nationality.
Christopher Nkunku
This is what makes Nkunku special: In FIFA 22, Nkunku made a name for himself as a player who had a subscription to special cards. Now, in FIFA 23, he has strong arguments for the title of “best offensive card in the Bundesliga.” Only Sadio Mané from FC Bayern and maybe Rudi Völler as a new hero card can really compete with him.
Nkunku basically has everything: A fast pace and very good dribbling combined with strong shooting and passing stats. The Leipzig forward is likely to become one of the most sought-after cards at the start of FIFA 23 – especially in Bundesliga teams.
And while we’re already in the Bundesliga…
Jeremie Frimpong
This is what makes Frimpong special: With his 80 rating, Frimpong doesn’t stand out in terms of overall values, but thanks to his high pace and good defensive stats, as well as decent dribbling, he could be the perfect right-back for starter teams.
Overall, the Bundesliga offers some exciting players with high pace this year that could form a pretty strong starter team without costing too much.
For example, Sheraldo Becker, Moussa Diaby, Timo Werner, Karim Adeyemi, or Ihlas Bebou could be exciting and reasonably priced options. Also, the improved David Raum is great for Bundesliga teams.
