The FUT Heroes are new cards in FIFA 22. With Lars Ricken, Jürgen Kohler, and Mario Gomez, three German FUT heroes are also on board. And the ratings don’t look bad.
What are FUT Heroes? FUT Heroes (or Heroes) are fan favorites from past times. They have made a name for themselves with special performances or moments and are still remembered by football fans today.
So, they are a kind of “Icon light” – because the well-known icon cards of legendary players will still be present in FIFA 22. FUT Heroes represent a new card type. You can find an overview of the FUT heroes here.
The special thing: Each FUT Hero is assigned to a specific league and achieves a green chemistry link with every player from that league. There is also the usual chemistry link with players of the same nationality. However, the Heroes are not assigned to a club.
In FIFA 22, there will also be three German FUT Heroes assigned to the Bundesliga: Lars Ricken, Jürgen Kohler, and Mario Gomez. Their stats are now known as well.
This is how strong Ricken, Kohler, and Gomez will be in FIFA 22
What values are known? EA Sports released the cards of the three players, including their stats. However, these are only the overall value on the card and the subcategories of Pace, Dribbling, Shooting, Passing, Physical, and Defensive.
The deeper stats hidden in these categories are still unknown to us. However, the cards already provide insights into what strengths and weaknesses the cards will have. We will take a closer look at this here. Here you can see the cards:
Lars Ricken – Overall 85
Lars Ricken caused a memorable moment when he scored the 3:1 just seconds after being substituted in the Champions League final 96/97 – a goal later crowned by fans as the “BVB goal of the century”.
In FIFA 22, he is likely to contribute a few goals – or assists. The central attacking midfielder has fairly good values in offense. The speed is at 83, which is not bad at the start of the season and can be improved with Chemistry Styles. Additionally, he has Dribbling, Shooting, and Passing values in the 80s.
For a role as a playmaker up front, these values should be suitable. However, defending with Ricken probably isn’t worthwhile: 58 Defense and 65 Physical are not particularly helpful for defensive play.
It remains to be seen how Ricken’s stats for Skill Moves and weak foot look. If he gets equipped with good values here, he could become an interesting attacking player at the start of the season.
Jürgen Kohler – Overall 89
Jürgen Kohler, the “football god”, was known for his physical, combative defense. This playing style, with which Kohler racked up numerous titles, he is likely to implement in FIFA 22 as well.
Kohler’s card shines with extremely strong 91 in Defense and 90 in Physical. Therefore, he shouldn’t be easily separated from the ball, nor will he falter in physical duels.
Things become thinner in the areas of Dribbling, Shooting, and Passing. Here, Kohler is equipped with rather low values – in offense he won’t create too many chances.
The speed is 71, which is sufficient for the start of the season and can be further improved with Chemistry Styles. Depending on how much pace plays a role in FIFA 22, this value could become problematic during the season.
However, the FIFA 22 developers hinted that speed shouldn’t determine everything. If that works out, the card could remain interesting for longer.
Mario Gomez – Overall 88
Mario Gomez is the striker in the heroes’ roster and is likely to cause alarm in the opponent’s penalty area when he gets the ball. With a shooting score of 90, he will probably leave few chances untaken. His dribbling score of 82 and physical score of 83 are also respectable and should ensure that Gomez is not easily separated from the ball in the attacking third.
For pace, the same applies as for Kohler or Ricken: 83 is solid and should be sufficient for the time being. Additionally, Gomez is more of a player who lurks in front of the goal rather than running from the halfway line to the net. Therefore, the speed may not play such a significant role.
Finally, Gomez has 73 Passing and 43 Defense (negligible) to offer. Overall, this results in a rather exciting card that should be interesting in FIFA 22.
While the Heroes are slowly getting their values, the wait continues for currently active players. You can find everything about the FIFA 22 ratings here.
