In FIFA 21 the release of “Ones To Watch” or “Players to Watch” is approaching. What can we expect from the OTW event?
Update: Since Thursday evening, the complete first OTW team is known.
When does the event start? Today, on Friday, October 9th, the official release of FIFA 21 is set to take place. The OTW event also begins. Since 7 PM, the new special cards are available in packs.
What does the event look like? As EA Sports announced, there will be two OTW teams this year.
- The first will be released on October 9th and introduced into the game.
- The second team will be released on October 14th and will be available in the game on October 16th.
How do I get the cards? Both teams will be available for one week in packs. Additionally, there will likely be special SBCs and weekly challenges to earn OTW cards. For example, Thiago Silva can be obtained through an SBC. Diogo Jota is available through weekly challenges. In the Deadline Day pack, there are also 4 loan OTW players for free.
If you pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition by August 14th, you will also receive a guaranteed OTW player. Between October 9th and 16th, you will get a member from Team 1, and between October 16th and 21st, one from Team 2 – depending on when you open your pack. If you wait until after October 21st, the player could come from either team.
OTW cards are getting stronger
Which OTW cards are known? The first OTW team consists of the following players:

- Hakim Ziyech (85, CAM, Chelsea FC)
- Alex Telles (84, LB, Manchester United)
- Thomas Partey (84, CM, Arsenal)

- Martin Odegaard (83, CAM, Real Madrid)
- Allan (83, CAM, Everton)
- Achraf Hakimi (83, RM, Inter Milan)
- Victor Osimhen (79, ST, Napoli)
- Nathan Aké (79, CB, Manchester City)
There was even a first Squad Building Challenge beforehand, which could be completed through Early Access, the special editions, Web App or Companion App. There you received the OTW version of Sandro Tonali.
What are OTW cards? Ones-to-Watch cards are for players who have switched clubs this summer. The special feature: Their card has a dynamic rating. It improves every time the player receives a performance-based special card, such as a TOTW card.
They will therefore continuously improve and can increase in value.
