Today, on October 9th, FIFA 21 kicks off its new season. And those who play on release day can secure some gifts for their Ultimate Team on “Deadline Day.”
What gifts are available? FIFA 21 launches directly with “Deadline Day” during the release – a kind of short event that offers you some bonuses. You will receive two packs as gifts:
- A guaranteed TOTW Player Pack
- The “Deadline Day” Pack with 4 OTW players as loan objects
The OTW players have the potential to become stronger, but you can only use them for four matches.
More interesting is the TOTW Pack. In regular packs, the chance of top cards is extremely low, but here you get a guaranteed TOTW player. While he is not tradable, he remains permanently in your club. If he is strong, you can integrate him into your team immediately. If not, at least he can be used as a special card in an SBC.
How do I get the gift? To receive the packs, you just need to play the full version of FIFA 21. However, you must do this by the end of the release day; otherwise, the gift will no longer be available. Anyone who has already done this in the past few days via Champions Edition or Ultimate Edition should already be qualified.
On the official EA page, a countdown is ongoing, which ends at midnight on October 10th.
Important: This is about the full version of FIFA 21. Logging into the Web App or Companion App is not expected to count. If you have already played and want to be absolutely sure, you might want to log into FIFA 21 Ultimate Team again today.
When will I receive the gift? Don’t expect to receive your pack immediately. EA Sports states that the Deadline Day and TOTW Pack will be released “on or before October 16th” for players. So it might take up to a week before it arrives in your club.
Which players are included in the Deadline Day gift?
These players are eligible: Since these are packs containing random players, it cannot be said exactly which player you can expect. What is certain is that the Deadline Day Pack contains OTW players, while the TOTW Pack contains a player from the Team of the Week.
Important: You do not have to open the pack immediately. If you want, you can also save the packs – for instance, until a new TOTW appears. This can be worthwhile if you are not satisfied with the current players in the TOTW. Otherwise, the pool currently consists of these players:
TOTW Team 2 (Available in packs until October 14th, 7 PM)
OTW Team 1 (Available in packs from October 9th to 16th)
Especially for players who want to build a Bundesliga team in FUT, the current TOTW could be interesting. With Lewandowski and Haaland, there are two strikers in it that can immediately elevate any Bundesliga team to a higher level.
