Use these current trading tips to make the most of the transfer market in FIFA 20. Here you will learn how to earn coins quickly to buy top players in Ultimate Team.
This is the FIFA 20 transfer market: The transfer market in FIFA 20 FUT is the place where you buy and sell players and club items. Since the launch of the Web App and the Companion App, the market has been rolling, and prices have dropped. We will show you how you can still earn decent coins in FIFA 20.
Ultimate Team: Trading Guide to earning coins quickly
You should keep in mind: All trading methods have in common that they do not guarantee profit. You should always keep this in mind: A player that seems promising can quickly depreciate. In FIFA 20, it is significantly noticeable that even top cards are currently losing value.
Many prices on the market are related to events like Black Friday or TOTY as well as special SBCs. For example, in FIFA 19, cards that were useful for Icon SBCs became more expensive – this year, however, is different, as Icon Swaps have replaced the Icon SBCs.
Nevertheless, the market fluctuates – so don’t bet all your money on one card. Also, prices can vary between different platforms. A method may work better on PS4 than on PC and Xbox One – or vice versa.

Consider the EA fee: Transfers in Ultimate Team are not tax-free. From every card you sell on the transfer market, 5% of the price is deducted. So if you sell a card for 1000 coins, only 950 will be credited to your account. This can be a noticeable amount, especially with high prices.
How Trading with the TOTW Works
Trading tips for the TOTW: One proven trading method deals with the Team of the Week. This method is based on the real performances of the players.
The TOTW cards are available in packs for one week before being replaced by the next Team of the Week. At the time of their release, the cards are often very expensive but may decrease in price over the course of the week.
Later, when the new TOTW is released, their prices often rise again, allowing for profitable sales. Importantly: When a TOTW card is available in packs, the standard card of the player disappears from the packs. You can take advantage of this.
Trading TOTW with Gold Cards: This method is somewhat speculative and therefore not considered the safest. However, it has proven effective, especially in the initial weeks of FIFA.
If, for example, you notice a player’s outstanding performance over the weekend that would warrant a TOTW card, it often pays to buy him immediately. Assuming a Bundesliga attacker scores three goals in a match, he is very likely to receive a TOTW card. Secure the gold card of the player now. It disappears from packs as soon as the TOTW is available.
This makes the player scarcer in the market, increasing the price. Here you can make decent profit – if you get the player at the right time. Absolute trading pros buy the player as soon as he scores the first goal, even before others realize a TOTW card is coming.
If you don’t have time to closely monitor player performances, the TOTW predictions can help. Another tip: TOTW defenders are more difficult to predict but generally easier to acquire and carry lower risk.
Here’s how high your risk is: The risk can be considered moderate. If you buy players cheaply, you can sell them at normal price if they don’t receive a TOTW card. Then you only face a small loss. But be careful not to overpay for them – for instance, because other traders have already recognized their value. If it doesn’t work out, you might incur a larger loss.
Sniping – selling cheap players for more
What to consider when sniping: Sniping is only somewhat related to real football. The main goal is to acquire players at the lowest possible price and sell them profitably.
This is the basic rule of trading: Get players as cheap as possible and then sell them as high as you can. This also works if you don’t have prior knowledge or time for research.
Trading tips for sniping: First, select players that you want to trade. This applies to every price range, from players for 1000 coins to really expensive ones. Ideally, you should monitor the player for a day to see when he is cheapest.
Setting sniping filters: This is the crux of sniping. When the player is at his lowest price, you need to set a search filter that has the buy it now and bid prices below market value. The lower you set the price, the less likely it is that you will find a player.
However, once you find a card, you need to strike quickly. To maximize your success, you should follow these steps:
- Set the filter and press search.
- Click away the pop-up message.
- If you don’t find a card: Increase the maximum (bid) price with the shoulder buttons. This updates the market offer. Without this step, the method won’t work. Leave the buy it now price the same. Then keep searching.
- Repeat these steps until a card appears. If it really doesn’t work, try at a different time of day (for instance, more cards might be available in the evening). Alternatively, you could raise the buy it now price a bit – but not too much!
How reliable is this method? Many traders utilize sniping, so there’s a lot of competition. It’s possible that cards can get snatched up right before your eyes – especially if you are inexperienced and thus a bit slower. However, with some practice, you can gain speed, making it harder for others to beat you to it.
The players you acquire cheaply can sometimes be sold again with huge profit margins. The main risk is that you might acquire nothing and thus waste a lot of time.
Can I get banned? In the past, players reported being temporarily banned from the market while sniping. It can happen that the game mistakes you for a bot. However, we have personally not experienced this.
Mass Selling – for patient traders
The alternative trading method: If you aren’t focused on the maximum profit of a card, you can set a more realistic buy it now price. Then you can buy as many identical player cards as possible at a lower price, which might not be as low as with sniping.
You then re-list them on the transfer market – at a higher price, of course. Keep in mind that you need to factor in the 5% fee. You might offer a 1000-coin card at a price of 1300, hoping that several of your cards sell at this price.
This way you won’t make big jumps and it takes longer; however, many players don’t care about 200 to 300 coins more or less. If you continuously update your cards, they will likely sell at some point. The more players you have at the same price on the market, the more likely someone will buy them.
Trading tips for Mass Bidding
Bids instead of sniping: When mass bidding, you use a similar method as when sniping. First, you must find out when your selected player is cheapest. That’s when you should go for it.
Here’s how it works: Instead of finding extremely cheap players through buy now prices, try using the bid price. Now you bid on as many cheap copies of the player as possible – with the aim of selling them profitably later. Always bid only as much that a realistic profit remains.

How long does it take? You can be sure that you won’t win all your bids. However, if you bid on a large number of players, your chances are good that after an hour several bargains will land in your club. You can then resell them at market value. A higher selling price can work too – but here you should expect that it will take longer to sell the cards.
Maintenance can yield coins
Advantage from downtime: Throughout the season, it often happens that EA takes the servers offline for maintenance work. If you know when this happens, you can gain an advantage.
The market continues to run. If you place bids just before maintenance, it’s possible that no one will place new bids for your transfer target during the downtime. It’s a gamble whether other players will choose this approach as well – but if you apply “mass bidding” you might snag some good deals.

Trading with SBCs, Events & Top Matches
How you can speculate: Many players use SBCs to strengthen their team. You can leverage this to optimize your team – if you have the right foresight. Some SBCs, events, and top matches cause player prices to rise. If you already have them in your club, you can sell them for a high price.
How to take advantage of SBCs: “POTM,” “Top Matches,” and other SBCs consistently require players from certain nationalities and leagues. If you can predict what theme an SBC might have, you can buy the right players cheaply and sell them for profit.

Teemu Pukki, for example, was the first POTM in FIFA 20. For him, you need a Premier League team – players from the English league are suitable. In previous POTM SBCs, players from the respective team were often requested.
So, for instance, if a player from Bayern Munich becomes the Bundesliga POTM, it can be worthwhile to get a few Bayern players and, as soon as the SBC is released, sell them again. Similar applies to thematic SBCs like Top Matches and events.
Trading isn’t everything: First and foremost, FIFA is supposed to be fun – don’t forget that you also need a team that you enjoy playing with.
