What the World Cup mode brings for Ultimate Team
The World Cup mode integrated into Ultimate Team is the most awaited by the community. Not much changes compared to the World Cup mode in FIFA 14.
The most important points in summary:
- There is no transfer market, all players and stadiums are untradeable
- Coins and FIFA Points are cross-mode, there is only one account for World Cup and normal mode
- The chemistry system comes as in the WC mode of FIFA 14 – instead of leagues, clubs, and nations, continents and nationality count
- All World Cup cards are dynamic, meaning they can increase their rating with good performances
Be careful when creating your World Cup team: Choose your nation wisely, as you cannot change it later and will likely receive a starter pack with players of that nationality. You can only delete your World Cup club by deleting your entire FUT club.

How do “FIFA World Cup” packs work? For each World Cup pack purchased with coins or points, you will receive the same set in the normal FUT mode. There are 5k and 7.5k packs in the FIFA store. However, this does not apply to sets you receive through SBC’s, challenges, games, or tournament wins.
What is cross-mode? Coins and points are cross-mode, as are consumables and draft tokens. If you draw them in a World Cup pack, you can also use them for the normal mode and vice versa.
What can you only use in World Cup mode? Players, managers, and stadiums are untradeable and can only be used in the World Cup mode. Players from normal FUT will not transfer, nor any PTG cards.
What do I do with duplicates? Since there is no transfer market, you can store up to 100 duplicate items in the duplicates list. You can exchange duplicate players in World Cup SBC’s, for example. In these Squad Building Challenges, you will receive packs, for example, with a guaranteed icon.
Are there bronze, silver, and gold players? Yes, while it is not noticeable on the card, players up to a rating of 64 are bronze, up to 74 silver, and everything above is gold cards.
Is there loyalty? Yes, there is. Since there is no transfer market, however, drawn cards do not automatically have the loyalty bonus. You must play ten matches with them first.

What modes are there? In Ultimate Team, single-player tournaments, online tournaments, single-player drafts, online drafts, and Squad Building Challenges await us.
How much does the draft cost? The online draft costs either 15,000 coins or 300 FIFA points.
How can I get World Cup packs without coins? For every completed single-player and online match, you receive a set with a World Cup player, regardless of whether you win or lose. If you progress beyond the group stage, there is a bonus. You also receive coin and set rewards for tournament wins. Packs are also available through challenges and SBC’s.
What type of SBC’s are there? There will be different types of SBC’s. This includes an icon upgrade, in which you need to submit a team with a rating of 84 for a guaranteed World Cup icon. In the “Easy Icon” SBC, you will receive an icon once for an 81-rated team. Additionally, there are continent upgrades. Here you exchange 11 any World Cup cards and receive 3 guaranteed players from the respective confederation.
What types of packs are there? The list of packs is long, there are packs with players who have a certain minimum rating or packs with players from a specific confederation.
Are you looking forward to the World Cup update after this information, or will you continue to play normal Ultimate Team?
