The latest title update 1.14 for FIFA 18 was released on June 8th. However, this comes with a small hiccup, as the patch was not actually supposed to go live yet. Here are the official patch notes.
Title updates for FIFA typically appear for PC first and a few days later for PS4 and Xbox. Not so with patch 1.14: the update accidentally went live on Xbox One last night.
Originally, update 1.14 was planned for next week. On Xbox One, the 4.2 GB patch is already available for download, and it went live shortly afterwards on PS4. PC and Switch players will have to wait a little longer.
EA Sports released a brief Twitter statement after the Xbox patch mishap. They also announced the extension of the Weekend League by 24 hours. Below you will find all the official patch notes.
The patch notes for title update 1.14 for FIFA 18
The changes mainly affect the new World Cup mode, which is why the download was probably also scheduled for next week – at the start of the World Championship.
- New players have been added to the rosters of the qualified World Cup teams
- Various bug fixes related to the World Cup mode
- A method was added to release new players in the World Cup mode of Ultimate Team. As soon as new World Cup cards are available, EA Sports will announce this on Twitter.
- Bug fixes for Ultimate Team and Pro Clubs mode
Additionally, EA is working to update the player rosters of the World Cup teams and make the “Starheads”, i.e., the scanned faces, available outside of the World Cup mode.

Patch causes issues on Xbox
The title update seems to be causing crashes and other problems on Xbox.
According to some players, the game does not start on Xbox One after downloading update 1.14. There is currently no solution, but we will keep you updated.
The premature update is not the only fail concerning the World Cup mode: by giving away thousands of World Cup sets, EA caused a market crash in regular Ultimate Team.
