Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood is getting a first major content update soon. Patch 4.1 “The Legend Returns” brings a lot of new content and will be released in October.
With the massive addon Stormblood, Final Fantasy XIV launched in version 4.0. Only a few weeks after the release of the expansion, a hefty content update is expected with Patch 4.1. The patch is called “The Legend Returns” and is set to be released in early October.
Final Fantasy XIV – The Contents of Patch 4.1 – Hildibrand and New Dungeon
The contents of Update 4.1 “The Legend Returns” are as follows:
- The main story continues
- There are new side quests, including some with Hildibrand!
- New beast tribe quest about the Kojin
- The new dungeon “Drowned City of Skalla” is coming
- The Shinryu primal battle will be available in Extreme mode
- New PvP content “Rival Wings,” a 24vs24 brawl, which will be released with Patch 4.15
- The alliance size has no more restrictions

- There will be new levels in the “Lost Canals of Uznair”
- You can take your adventure squadron into dungeons. Additionally, the squadron will get a limit break
- There will be new housing in Shirogane. You can also swim there. If you want, you can move your housing plot to the new area.
- Your crafting inventory will be tidied up, as beast tribe scripts will now count towards currencies
- Bards can play instruments directly, note by note
- There will be cross-world alliance raids
- There will be even harder “Ultimate” challenges. First with the “Coils of Bahamut”. As a reward, you will receive a weapon, but it won’t be stronger than the current maximum. It will just look different. The item level will not increase with Patch 4.1.
- New alliance raid “Return to Ivalice,” set in the city “Rabanastre” from Final Fantasy XII.
