In addition to the main missions in Far Cry 5, you can pass the time with trucks, seaplanes, and tractors. More laid-back players take up fishing and pull fish from the water.
Sure, Far Cry 5 is mainly about shooting and a doomsday cult whose plans you are supposed to thwart. But besides the missions, there should also be time to relax. With airplanes, you can view the map from above and drop a bomb or two on enemy targets. With the tractor, you not only flatten fields but also opponents. And if that’s still too much action for you, grab a fishing rod, stand by a lake, and catch a few fish from the water.
Far Cry 5 – Gameplay and Walkthrough
At Gamescom 2017, visitors can now try out and play Far Cry 5 themselves. Those who are not on-site can make do with new gameplay videos, such as the one from Arekkz.
The FC5 demo has reportedly been around since E3 2017, but apparently hasn’t been shown until now.
It’s difficult to get a “real” impression of the gameplay from the 13-minute demo. What is clear is that there is a lot of variety, and you don’t see the same things repeatedly when you’re in Hope County. The environment looks beautiful, and the developers clearly had an eye for detail. You quickly feel like grabbing your dog “Boomer” and exploring the world.
If you want to see the whole thing presented in a more “structured” way, you’re in luck. In the extended walkthrough, the creators explain more about the game. Learn more about air combat or how Boomer can bring you important weapons that will help you in the fight. They also introduce you to the Widowmaker. A truck described as a “ram on wheels”. With that, you can easily clear obstacles like opponents or roadblocks.
Far Cry 5 is set to be released in February 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
