Finding the right player on the transfer market was sometimes not so easy in FIFA 19. This was due to the fact that Ultimate Team lacks something very simple: reasonable filters. Fans hope that this will improve in FIFA 20.
Here’s what it’s about: Anyone searching for a specific player on the transfer market in Ultimate Team simply has to enter their name. So far, so simple. In addition, FIFA 19 offers the following filters:
Under the “Quality” tab, one can differentiate according to the following parameters:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Special
That’s it. There are not many more differentiation options. This means: it is not possible, for example, to search for specific special cards. Given the plethora of promos that have taken place over time in FIFA 19, this seems strange. After all, it would make sense to differentiate between “Future Stars“, “TOTW” and all other special cards. However, this is currently not possible.
Similarly, one cannot distinguish between “rare” or “common”. A distinguishing feature that becomes important, for example, when you want to display several forwards from the Bundesliga – but actually do not want to see every 78-rated attacker. By the way: one cannot filter by player rating either.
Fans have long been wishing for more filters
This is what players think about the filters: The lack of filtering options has been concerning fans since the beginning of the FIFA season. When EA announced in August 2018 that players could now sort their players in their club by “Untradeable” and “Recently Added”, many saw this as a step in the right direction. However, even then, the desire for additional filters on the transfer market arose.
As the season progressed, the wish became clearer. The more promos, such as “Ultimate Scream“, “Karneball” or “TOTS” appeared – not to mention the various Champions League cards – the more confusing the transfer market became. Players are reacting with incomprehension on reddit, wondering why this technology is still not in the game. Reddit user “blitz3nn” showed in a video what that could look like:
Some suspect that EA wants to prevent in-game trading from becoming easier. This feature would also be very useful for completing SBCs. However, trading is also a point that seems to be in the interest of some players: “I hope it stays out. It is crucial for various trading methods that they do not include the feature,” said user “VivaLaWeeb“. Similar voices can be found on the subject repeatedly.
Filters exist – but not in the game
Here you can find the corresponding filters: The incomprehension is fueled by the fact that there are “filters by promo” in the “Madden” series, also from EA. And also in the in-house “FUT database“, you can filter to your heart’s content for different card types:
However, in FIFA 19 itself, one searched for this option in vain. Would you like corresponding filters for FIFA 20? Tell us in our Facebook group!
