What is this new trailer about? The Crunchyroll team has uploaded the second trailer for Season 3 of Oshi no Ko on YouTube. We see numerous characters we already know from Seasons 1 and 2 – of course including the two protagonists Aqua and Ruby.
Ruby’s eyes have still turned black due to the events of Season 2, which clearly shows that she is pursuing her own plan. Meanwhile, she poses as a silly reporter who is on the trail of the myth of a real Pikachu.
Kana and Akane, who are vying for Aqua’s affection, are back as well, along with the idol Mem-Cho. Unfortunately, the trailer is currently only available in the original Japanese version without subtitles.
Fans look forward to Season 3, but not to the ending
What do fans say about the trailer? Even with the new images for Season 3 of the anime, many fans are excited about the upcoming content. This is confirmed by the ranking on MyAnimeList, one of the largest rating sites in this area. Here, Oshi no Ko is the fourth most anticipated anime, coming after sequels to Frieren and Jujutsu Kaisen. Even MeinMMO demon Cortyn can hardly wait for the season.
However, the excitement is dampened for some fans, specifically those who have already read the manga. The story of Oshi no Ko is complete, and many readers are not satisfied with the ending.

Fans on reddit find it exaggerated that Aqua ends up killing himself and his father. Furthermore, Ruby’s death hits so hard that she becomes as manipulative a liar as her mother Ai. Fans say this is a bit too sad and there is no lesson that Ruby learned from her mother’s behavior.
