In the cooking show Let them cook by Rumathra and Frank Rosin, Trymacs has to eat a few pieces of vegetable during a challenge – this is almost impossible for the Twitch-streamer.
Which TV chef is meant? Frank Rosin is a German chef who prominently showcases his professional cooking skills on television. He is awarded two Michelin stars and runs the restaurant Rosin in Dorsten. In his show Rosins Restaurants, he helps struggling restaurants get back on their feet.
Twitch streamer Rumathra often reacted to the show Rosins Restaurants in his streams, where he gained his cooking knowledge. Rumathra’s enthusiasm for cooking and for Frank Rosin caught the professional chef’s attention, and they started their own live show Let them cook.
Here, two content creators compete against each other in a cooking duel. The result is then evaluated by the live chat and the two moderators Rumathra and Frank Rosin.
Every Sunday at 6 PM, a new episode of the show is streamed, and the entire episode is uploaded to Joyn the following Wednesday. On March 2, Trymacs and his brother Nicolas were guests and had to cook a Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes each. Trymacs had to face a challenge that almost made him vomit.
You can see how Trymacs’ career has developed in our video:
“Nobody likes that, right?”
Trymacs faces a cucumber: To have professional chef Frank Rosin on his side for two minutes and thus gain an advantage, Trymacs and his brother Nicolas first have to face a challenge. On a plate, there is a piece of cucumber, a radish, and an artichoke heart that must be eaten. Whoever finishes them all faster wins.
Nicolas immediately withdraws from the challenge, stating: “I’m really sorry, Frank, but it’s just not worth it to me.” He later explains that he is even “weirder” about vegetables than his brother.
Trymacs, on the other hand, accepts the challenge. Beforehand, he says: “Nobody likes that, right?” to which Frank Rosin replies: “Yes, I do.”
First, Trymacs forces himself to swallow the radish, which goes reasonably well. But with the cucumber, it becomes more challenging. Even though the cucumber is mainly made of water, the rest is “just so disgusting” for Trymacs.
Finally, the artichoke heart is next, which is quite bitter in taste. The piece of vegetable almost makes the Twitch streamer vomit, but he eventually manages to swallow it down with a glass of water to wash away the bitter taste.
You can watch the clip here on YouTube:
Frank Rosin is incredulous: The professional chef cannot understand Trymacs’ disgust: “Is it that bad? Really? A silly radish?” He further explains: “If it were elephant testicles, I could understand, but ‘a cucumber?'”
In the end, the professional chef has some encouraging words for the two brothers. According to him, there are many people who have an “eating disorder.” He thinks it’s great that the two can be a role model for such people by showing that one can “turn the lever” and “just do it” by starting to cook.
Why doesn’t Trymacs like vegetables? The reason the Twitch streamer has such an aversion to vegetables is not entirely clear. It seems to be a mix of personal taste and negative childhood experiences. Moreover, his brother Nicolas is similarly inclined.
Within his community, this has become a running gag. Trymacs repeatedly mentioned how the consistency and taste of many types of vegetables simply disgust him.
Trymacs has some peculiarities that no other Twitch streamer has. Another of them is that he really hates the emotes and dances in Fortnite. His Twitch colleagues took advantage of that: Trymacs has an expensive Fortnite account, but only because his Twitch colleagues want to annoy him
