There are things that one looks forward to returning. Bugs are not among them, and this one has now made its way into Call of Duty: Warzone for the third time: The glitch for infinite gas masks is (once again) back.
What kind of bug is this? The bug in question is well-known: It found its way to Call of Duty: Warzone back in 2020 and was last reported in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 last November.
The bug currently only affects collectible gas masks and allows you to duplicate them as often as you want. In its first iteration, the bug even gave you the opportunity to duplicate all items in Warzone. However, this is currently not the case.

Why is the bug so annoying? In Call of Duty: Warzone, you move on an ever-shrinking map. Unlike in games like PUBG, the playable area is not limited by a so-called zone, but by a cloud of toxic gas. However, the function is the same.
The gas makes it very difficult to survive for long. To even have a chance, gas masks are required. So anyone who possesses one or even several gas masks has a strong advantage over other players:
For example, you can hide in the gas and surprise unsuspecting opponents from behind. Alternatively, with enough masks, one could simply wait in the gas until the player field has thinned out.
In one way or another, the bug significantly extends a player’s lifespan and increases their chances of winning.
When will the bug be fixed? In the past, the developers made every effort to patch the bug out of the game as quickly as possible. In the original Warzone from 2019, they needed several attempts to get a handle on the situation.
However, the developers released a fix that reduces the lifespan of gas masks, even if you are not currently wearing them. This way, the items decay
and the benefit from duplication would theoretically disappear.
This assumes that the duplicated masks spawn at the same decay level as the original. If so, the bug is not as bad as initially feared. However, if the masks appear with 100% quality, the fix has not served its purpose. Whether this is the case, we unfortunately cannot confirm at the moment.
Now that the bug is known, the development studio will likely do everything possible to eliminate this bug as quickly as possible.
