The data miner StrayKurtis has released a new video on his YouTube channel, showcasing various spells from Elden Ring. And some of them are quite extravagant.
These spells have been discovered: It’s been many weeks since the network test of Elden Ring, and yet data miners continue to extract new bits of information from the client.
The YouTuber StrayKurtis has introduced a new video on his channel featuring a whole range of new spells he found in the depths of the code of Elden Ring. It showcases the vast diversity of magic in the new game from FromSoftware.
In addition to the “normal, boring” spells, like flying magical orbs or arrows, there are also much more extravagant abilities for magic lovers:
- With one spell, you can summon magical weapons like greatswords or hammers, which can consist of lightning and blood or simply glow green. By additionally casting the spells, these weapons can even perform combos.
- The character can transform into a large flower that explodes after a few seconds, causing area damage.
- Several different summoning spells show ghostly knights or skeletons that perform their attacks and then disappear, or a snake of fire that explodes multiple times along its length.
- With blood magic, thorns can be summoned on the ground that explode when they reach the opponent.
- Classic thunderstorms with lightning and meteor showers are also available.

For some spells, you can also change their elemental properties. In the video, you can see the spell “Floating Chaos” demonstrated first without an element and then with frost.
Kurtis states in the video description that these are by no means all the spells he has discovered. Rather, he has thrown together a random selection and uploaded it as a video. But there are many more,
This is dragon magic: In addition to “classic” magic, there is also dragon magic in Elden Ring. This differs from normal spells in that it draws from the power of dragons.
For example, it summons individual body parts of dragons that perform various attacks against the magician’s enemies. In another, somewhat older video from StrayKurtis, you can see:
- A tail swipe that can be charged for more damage and range
- A claw swipe that can be followed by a second attack
- The bite of a summoned dragon head
- Many different versions of dragon breath that spew frost, blue fire, lava, or lightning
Some spells are still unfinished and lack sound effects, for example. But even from these examples, you can see how diverse magic is in Elden Ring.
It is also not certain whether the spells will actually look the same as in the video. In his reconstruction, Kurtis selected various effects and combined them when they seemed appropriate and harmonious together.
Will these spells really be in Elden Ring? This is still data mining of the beta version of the game. So there is no guarantee that all of these spells will appear in the finished game. In SoulsBorne games, data miners have discovered many discarded concepts in the past, such as abilities, outfits, and even entire areas or bosses that never made it into finished games.
It is therefore possible that fans will never see some of these spells in the light of day, but rather remain hidden in the game’s code.
