After the PlayStation 5 had already suffered under resellers who snatched up consoles with bots, the Xbox Series is now also reportedly affected. Apparently, the same group that targeted the PS5 has once again attacked a large number of consoles.
Many gamers tried to get one of the new consoles this fall. However, both Xbox Series X and the PS5 generated huge demand and are currently hard to obtain. Another issue: In addition to “normal” gamers, other groups are also striking.
For example, on eBay there were downright ridiculous prices after successful console buyers decided to resell their new devices for a profit.
In addition, there are scalper networks like “CrepChiefNotify”. This group had already recently stated that they secured a total of 3,500 PlayStation 5 consoles. Members of networks like CrepChiefNotify use bots that buy up entire stocks of consoles (or other tech devices or products) that are normally hard to find within a very short time.
Xbox Series X follows the PS5
This is what has happened now: After the network had already extensively targeted the PS5, it is now reportedly also hoarding the Microsoft console in large quantities. As reported by “Dual Shockers”, CrepChiefNotify secured 1,000 consoles from an unknown retailer last Sunday. The group announced this itself on social media (via Instagram).
Now… we did it again! We just informed our members about a new Xbox Series X shipment from a very well-known online retailer. They have now managed to secure 1000+ and there are still many hours left.

Due to the pandemic, scalpers are supposedly profiting all the more as there are hardly any products offered in stores and bots online sometimes have better chances of accessing the contingents.
By the way, it’s not just the new consoles that are affected by scalping; other types of products can also be hit. For instance, the RTX 3080 graphics card was sold out very quickly – and ended up being sold at high prices on eBay.
