The MMORPG Lost Ark finally celebrates its release in Europe in 2022. During the Game Awards 2021, they announced the final release date. We have gathered all the information about the release, the classes, and the content of the game for you.
Lost Ark will be released on February 11, 2022, at 6 PM in the West. However, you can start on February 8 at 6 PM with the appropriate pre-order packages.
Regardless of whether you’re a pre-order customer or not, all Lost Ark fans can download the game starting from February 7 at 6 PM to get started right away.
Basically nothing, because Lost Ark is Free2Play. However, there are pre-order packages that provide some bonuses and even allow for 3 days of early access. Additionally, there is an in-game shop with some purchasable items.

The classes available at the release of Lost Ark in Europe
What classes does Lost Ark offer? In Korea, players can choose from 6 different basic classes, which split into a total of 22 “Advanced Classes”. For example, there is the base class Mage, which divides into Mage classes such as Bard and Warlock.
However, in Europe, we start with a slightly smaller selection. We will have access to all 5 basic classes, but only to 15 of the other classes. Additionally, the distribution is uneven. We get four variants of the Martial Artist, but only two Mages and two Assassins.
The 15 classes are:
- Warrior:
- Berserker – A melee class with a huge two-handed sword
- Paladin – A support warrior with a one-handed sword
- Pike-Slinger – A type of tank with a shield
- Mage:
- Bard – A supporter with a harp
- Sorceress- A female mage with area spells, recently announced as a new class
- Assassins:
- Deathblade – Assassin with various swords
- Shadow Hunter – Melee fighter with demon form
- Gunner:
- Artillerist – Focuses on rockets, flamethrowers, and much destruction
- Sharpshooter – Archer with jump attacks
- Death Shooter – Ranged fighter with pistols and rifles
- Artillery Girl – The female, but slightly easier to play version of the Artillery class
- Martial Artist
- Spirit Fist – A type of melee monk that uses its fists
- War Dancer – A melee fighter with elemental effects such as fire or lightning spells
- Scrapper – Melee fighter with a huge combat glove
- Striker – A martial arts fighter also with elemental effects
What is Lost Ark and what content does it offer?
What kind of game is it? Lost Ark is a mixture of MMORPG and games like Diablo. You play it in the isometric perspective and it has the typical hack’n’slay controls that you know from Diablo or Path of Exile. This way, you chop through hordes of monsters and collect loot to improve your equipment.
However, you can complete quests and tasks in a group at any time. In the game world, you also constantly encounter other players and can even organize yourself into guilds to tackle the demanding endgame content.
Otherwise, there are other classic MMORPG contents such as auction houses, housing, and PvP. One special highlight is the relationships you can build with NPCs.
Lost Ark relies on a special character development system called Tripod. This allows you to further modify the individual abilities of your classes in the style of ARPGs. The skills thereby get new effects, stats, and appearance.
Lastly, the developers overhauled the entry into Lost Ark, so you now play a general instead of a class-specific tutorial.
What does Lost Ark offer in the endgame? In the endgame, everything revolves around improving your equipment. For this, you fight through difficult quests, dungeons, or raids. Each item has an item level, and the higher it is, the stronger the equipment. Through sockets, engravings, and by re-rolling secondary stats, you can modify your items according to your wishes.
Alternatively, you can focus on shipping, which unlocks at around level 35 to 40. You can constantly improve your ships and engage in battles against ghost ships and find treasures.
If you don’t feel like PvE, you can also compete in PvP battles. The unique aspect here is that your equipment does not matter in the arenas. Success in battles thus depends on your skill.
How is Lost Ark received in Korea? Lost Ark is a huge success in Korea and ranks among the top games in the country. Only League of Legends and occasionally FIFA can compete with the MMORPG. It was also well received in the West and has achieved 96% positive reviews on Steam so far.
