The current event quest in Monster Hunter Wilds offers an easy way to quickly get certain items, including one that is needed for powerful buffs. However, to farm effectively, you need to keep in mind something that many forget.
What material is it about? Many players are currently looking for an effective way to farm the material “Nourishing Extract.” It is required to craft strong demon potions or armor skin, which buff your hunter for up to 50 minutes in addition to the meal consumed, giving you increased attack and defense.
However, it is not so easy to acquire, as you cannot farm or buy it directly. A player has now discovered that the current event quest “Pain and Cruelty” is excellent for addressing this problem – if you pay attention to a few things.

Effective grind with “Lucky Meal”
What do you need to consider? As user ryuujiryuu points out in his thread on Reddit, it is easy to farm the material “Nourishing Extract” by hunting Guardian Doshaguma. For the 70 examples shown in his screenshot, he completed the current event quest repeatedly for about 30 minutes.
Beforehand, he strengthened himself with a meal of Kunafa that grants the buff “Lucky Meal” – a buff that should generally not be missing on any farming run. You can also create your own meal with this buff or exchange vouchers for one at the Great Site. The buff causes you to receive more materials at the end of a hunt.
Then he joined other players and helped them complete the event quest, saving additional time.
Why this quest in particular? Nourishing Extract is primarily obtained from Guardian Doshagumas and Guardian Volcano Odogarons, so you could theoretically just hunt those two for the material. However, by completing the event quest, you also earn a bunch of hunter rank points and level up more effectively.
Additionally, many hunters are currently completing this quest, making it easy to find teammates or join others already fighting for a few minutes through the emergency signal. This way, one can quickly and effectively farm the material.
You can still take advantage of the event quest until tomorrow morning; then it will rotate again. So you should make the best use of the remaining time. If you don’t have time today, you don’t have to be sad, because the tactic works just as well with normal monsters – though without the nice side effect of the hunter rank points.
Capcom has already confirmed that past event quests will return after a while. For example, the event quest “Tongue Twister” will return starting April 16, where you can farm valuable armor spheres.
