In Throne and Liberty the dungeons are no longer a challenge for most players. However, a riddle is still troubling MMORPG players even a month after the launch.
What about the dungeons in Throne and Liberty? The dungeons in Throne and Liberty posed significant problems for many players at the beginning. Some groups took hours to complete, while others even considered quitting the game because of it.
The players who knew what to do often isolated themselves from others and instead used the group bulletin board instead of matchmaking. There, their members simply filtered by gear score. Amazon intervened and now distributes rewards for completion through random matchmaking, so that the pros can also play with new players.
While the pros pass on the mechanics and tricks to others, the better equipment that many players now have helps to complete the dungeons even faster. However, a specific dungeon is still causing players problems and cannot be solved with better equipment.
In the following video, we address the question, “Is the new MMORPG Throne and Liberty Pay2Win?”
Easier said than done
Which dungeon is causing problems? Even more than a month after the release of Throne and Liberty, problems continue with the dungeon “Slaughter Gorge”. It is not even the final boss that causes many players trouble. The problems arise with the riddle before the final boss.
The orc shadow summoners in the dungeon “Slaughter Gorge” have a unique ability. They can enchant an ally so that they take no damage. Therefore, you must first defeat the summoner before you can defeat the enchanted one.
However, for a puzzle just before the final boss, two of the orc shadow summoners face each other and enchant each other. In theory, the puzzle is easily solved: both summoners must be stunned simultaneously to break the spell. Then they are vulnerable for the duration of the stun. In practice, however, groups repeatedly struggle with this.
Why is this so difficult? Due to the diverse weapon combinations in Throne and Liberty, many players do not have a stun skill in PvE. For some, the lack of explanation seems to create confusion.
Moreover, coordination is a problem. Players often fail to cast their abilities simultaneously on the two orcs, resulting in the stuns having no effect. Generally, many players seem to just wait for someone else to solve the puzzle for them.
What do the players themselves say about this? Recently, a post on Reddit caused a stir, calling this very puzzle the hardest part of all dungeons. The user IShatMyselfInDota wrote below on Reddit: “DD players scream and hiss in the corner when I ask them if they know what CC Timing is.”
Also, HiDariUs_G on Reddit experienced the issue: “I was literally in a group where I was the only one with a stun skill, and I said: ‘You should equip one too, otherwise we really can’t continue!'”
The user Wasabyee explains on Reddit how it can be done alone: “As a Spellblade [editor’s note: this is the combination of dagger and staff], I do it alone: I freeze one enemy, shadow step to the other and take him out, then I shadow step back to the frozen one and finish him off too.”
It won’t be long before only a few players get stuck on the riddle every day. New dungeons in Throne and Liberty are still scheduled for this year, which will bring different loot than some are used to from the Korean version of the game: Throne and Liberty: Tier 2 Dungeons – Everything that is known so far and how to prepare for it
