Soon, Eternal Crusade will be released. At least if you want to play the game on PC.
The 41st Millennium is being brought forward
Behaviour Interactive, the creators behind the online shooter “Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade” have announced in a press release that the game is slowly nearing the finish line and will be released in the near future. The release date has been set for September 23, 2016 – at least for the PC version of the shooter and at least in America. The console version will be released “sometime later” – and development on it has been put on hold for now. The developers have stated that “it was a hard decision to delay the console version, but it will lead to an improved and optimized experience for all players.”
Before that happens, the entire game must be upgraded to Unreal Engine 4.12, which could lead to some issues. Therefore, in the official Steam forum, it is announced:
“The next big patch will include all the work we’ve done until the 10th and furthermore the Unreal Engine 4.12. This means that if everything goes well, the patch will be deployed on Thursday, August 25 – at the latest on Tuesday, August 30. However, we must warn you. Updates to the engine, even minor versions, are quite significant tasks. We still have to do it to deploy all the new features, performance improvements, optimizations, and general bug fixes.”
Currently, Eternal Crusade is still in the Early Access phase. As soon as there is a more concrete date for release on consoles, we will keep you informed.
