The Elder Scrolls Online mourns the death of a respected and beloved player. To pay their respects, many players gathered and even made the instance crash.
What happened? The player Alafynhow was infected with Covid and ultimately succumbed to the disease. His death was met with great sadness by the Brazilian ESO community, and so the community organized a massive mourning march in the game.
Many players came together to pay their last respects to Alafynhow. They met and also had numerous pets and mounts with them. Additionally, fireworks were set off in honor of Alafynhow. All of this was ultimately enough for the server. The instance reached its limits and crashed.
Brazilian community mourns its founder
Who was Alafynhow? Alafynhow, or Alaf as he was affectionately called, was well-known in the Brazilian ESO player community. He was the leader of his guild One Strong and was known for being particularly kind and helpful, even in the already very helpful ESO community.
He was said to have generously distributed money for starter mounts to new players, and the building up of the entire Brazilian community is largely credited to his contributions.
Alafynhow’s dream was to join the ESO stream team, which unfortunately came to a sudden end due to his untimely death from Covid.
What happened next? On Reddit , many comments expressed condolences, and some players shared their personal anecdotes about the deceased:
I met Alafynhow through a friend, and he invited me to One Strong (his guild). Even in the first moments after meeting him, he helped me and did everything he could to make my ESO experience as good as possible. I did so many trials because of him and learned the mechanics. Through him, I learned a lot about gear, champion points, and rotations. I participated in many events that he organized with the guild. And he did all of that for all players.
He spent many hours every day creating training gear for new players, helping people with dungeons and trials, and even went so far as to help many achieve challenger achievements. All of that and much more he did for free. He did everything out of goodwill to help and create a nice and supportive community.
Alafynhow was a great person. I’m sure many will have wonderful memories of ESO because of him. We will miss him dearly!
