The Crown Store in The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) now offers the second season crates. This time, the theme is “The Wild Hunt,” a practice performed by Wood Elves that creates gruesomely beautiful monsters.
Last year, Zenimax caused a stir by introducing “Loot Boxes” for The Elder Scrolls Online. The so-called Crown Crates are boxes that you pay for with real money currency “Crowns” and can contain all sorts of useful items like costumes, boosters, and mounts.
Previously, the theme of the boxes was “Storm Atronach” and the special mounts and items from the boxes were like the namesake lightning-struck runestones.
The Elder Scrolls Online – Crown Crates with Wild Hunt
If you weren’t a fan of Storm Atronachs but appreciate creepy Elf rituals, you should be excited about the new season of the Crown Crates. This time the theme is indeed “The Wild Hunt.” It is a practice of the barbaric Wood Elves, who call upon the powers of their primal deity Y’ffre and revert animals to a chaos primordial state.
The beasts are neither plant nor animal, but strange hybrid creatures that, according to ESO lore, are “as wondrous as they are hideous“. In the crates, you can find mount rewards that are horrifying mixtures of plants with bears, big cats, horses, and wolves. The Wild Hunt creatures glow in an ominous green.

In addition to the new mounts, there are also special auras of the Wild Hunt, and the crates can contain items, decor, hairstyles, and tattoos from past offerings along with the usual stuff.
