The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online has since 36 updates. There are now 4 arenas in Tamriel, 2 of which are adapted for solo play and the other 2 for a group of 4 players. We at MeinMMO show you in which arena you can find which set.
In ESO, item sets (sets for weapons, equipment, and jewelry) are distinguished by locations or whether they are craftable. You also need a different number of items to unlock the final effect of the set. The number varies between 2 to 5 pieces. These categories exist:
- Craftable sets (5 pieces)
- Dungeon sets (5 pieces)
- Monster sets (2 pieces)
- Sets from raids or trials (5 pieces)
- Sets from arenas (2 pieces)
- Open world sets (5 pieces)
- Sets of the Aldmeri Dominion

- Sets of the Daggerfall Covenant
- Sets from DLC areas
- PvP sets (5 pieces)
- PvP sets from Cyrodiil
- PvP sets from battlegrounds
- PvP sets from the Imperial City
- Mythic items (1 piece)
In this article, we focus on all sets from arenas. In ESO, there are a total of 4 arenas, 2 of which are designed either for a single player or for a group of 4 players. What all arenas have in common is that you receive special weapons for completing the entire arena.
The mentioned weapons are only available in the respective arena. In veteran mode, you receive these weapons in their perfected form. This means you also receive an additional bonus. However, the bonus is especially important, as you receive it for both the normal and perfected weapons.
The solo arenas include the Maelstrom Arena and the Vateshran Grounds. The Maelstrom Arena is located in the Wrothgar area and was introduced with the Orsinium DLC. The Vateshran Grounds is the second and newest solo arena. It is located in the Rift and was introduced with the area DLC Markarth in the MMORPG.

The five-piece item sets from the Maelstrom Arena (superior)
Unlike the Maelstrom weapons, which you only receive once you have completed the entire arena, you receive one piece of the five-piece item sets for completing each level. In total, you receive 10 pieces for a complete run. The sets and their bonuses are listed here for you:
Elemental Succor (Light):
- (2 items) Grants 1032 maximum Magicka.
- (3 items) Grants 121 Magicka & Weapon Power.
- (4 items) Grants 1032 maximum Magicka.
- (5 items) When you deal Flame, Shock, or Frost damage, you receive 4 seconds of 464 Magicka & Weapon Power for that element. Each effect is randomly chosen. An effect that is already active cannot be renewed.
Hunting Leader (Medium)
- (2 items) Grants 1058 maximum Stamina.
- (3 items) Grants 1058 maximum Stamina.
- (4 items) Grants 121 Magicka & Weapon Power.
- (5 items) When your companions attack an enemy you have also attacked within 10 seconds, you receive 2,337 Health and 1,145 Stamina back. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds.
Para Bellum (Medium)
- (2 items) Grants 1058 maximum Stamina.
- (3 items) Grants 1136 maximum Health.
- (4 items) Grants 1058 maximum Stamina.
- (5 items) When you take damage, you gain a damage shield that absorbs up to 3,961 damage for 6 seconds. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds.
Permafrost (Heavy)
- (2 items) Grants 1136 maximum Health.
- (3 items) Grants 1032 maximum Magicka.
- (4 items) Grants 121 Magicka regeneration.
- (5 items) While you have a damage shield active, your Health regeneration is increased by 1,042.
Glorious Defender (Heavy)
- (2 items) Grants 1136 maximum Health.
- (3 items) Grants 1136 maximum Health.
- (4 items) Grants 121 Magicka & Weapon Power.
- (5 items) Hitting an enemy with a crushing blow grants you glorious defense for 10 seconds, allowing you to dodge the next attack against you. This effect can occur once every 13 seconds.
Winterborn (Light)
- (2 items) Grants 1032 maximum Magicka.
- (3 items) Grants 121 Magicka regeneration.
- (4 items) Grants 121 Magicka & Weapon Power.
- (5 items) When you deal Frost damage, you create an ice pillar that deals 4,516 Frost damage to all enemies within 3 meters. The pillar lasts for 2 seconds and during that time reduces the movement speed of all enemies in the area of effect by 50%. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds, and the damage scales with your Magicka & Weapon Power, whichever is higher.

Explosive Rebuke (Heavy)

- (5 items) When you successfully block, you place a bomb on the enemy for 10 seconds. If this enemy is hit with a heavy attack at full strength, the bomb explodes and all enemies within 8 meters take 3,845 Flame Damage and a burning status effect. This effect can occur once every 8 seconds and scales with your physical resistance or spell resistance, whichever is higher.
Curse Drain (Light)
- (2 items) Grants 1032 maximum Magicka.
- (3 items) Grants 121 Magicka & Weapon Power.
- (4 items) Grants 618 Critical Strike Rating.
- (5 items) Grants 121 Magicka & Weapon Power.
- (5 items) When you deal a crushing blow to an enemy, you unleash a cone of curse energy in front of you. For each of up to 6 enemies hit, you gain 83 Magicka & Weapon Power for 8 seconds. This effect can occur once every 8 seconds. If you successfully interrupt a target, you gain back 942 Magicka.
Pestilent Host (Medium)
- (2 items) Grants 1401 Offensive Penetration.
- (3 items) Grants 1058 maximum Stamina.
- (4 items) Grants 121 Magicka & Weapon Power.

- (5 items) If you kill an enemy affected by a poison effect, a swarm of carrion flies streams from their corpse, attacking the next enemy within 12 meters and causing them to bleed for a total of 35,180 bleeding damage over 10 seconds. This effect scales with your Magicka & Weapon Power, whichever is higher.

Unlike the other arenas, the Black Rose Prison does not have five-piece sets. Instead of an arena-specific set, you receive one item from the open world sets of Murkmire for completing a level. The Black Rose Prison is located there.
