Battlestate Games announced the open beta of the online shooter Escape from Tarkov for early 2018. Before that, several so-called “load tests” are to be conducted.
The open beta allows testers to experience a far-advanced version of the action game. The test version includes new gameplay mechanics and revises the features that were previously included in the closed beta. Additionally, optimizations of graphics and network components, as well as further game content, are planned.
The developers have not yet announced a precise start date for the open beta, but so far it is said to be “early 2018.”

Seven Days to Play in the New Year Event
Starting December 28, several so-called “load tests” will be conducted over the course of several weeks. These are intended to prepare the servers for a large number of players for the open beta. As part of a New Year event, additional players will gain access to the shooter. Then it will be possible to play for seven days.
Testers will be randomly selected from all those who registered on the official website. The earlier the registration, the higher the chances of gaining access to the test.
In the week following the start of the New Year event, you will receive a 25% discount on all transactions, such as purchasing the game or pack upgrades, as well as gifts. Anyone who buys the game during the event period or already owns it will also receive additional equipment for their character, which can be used within six months regardless of server wipes. Those who participated before the start of the closed beta on July 28, 2017, will receive two additional seven-day access passes to share with friends.
And if you pre-ordered Escape from Tarkov prior to the alpha, before August 5, 2016, you will receive a promo code for the standard edition of the game as well as two seven-day access passes.

A New Update is Coming This Year
The development team also spoke about the upcoming update. It will be released before the end of the year and will bring new weapons and items, a new spawn system, dynamic resizing of weapons, helmet customization, improved slots for headgear, a revamped weapon mastering system, dog tags, and the complete map “Shorline”.
In October, a major update for Escape from Tarkov was released, which paved the way for the upcoming open beta.
