Escape from Tarkov: Real Kalashnikovs for more realistic gun sounds

Escape from Tarkov places great emphasis on realism, and therefore the weapon sounds need to fit perfectly. This is why the Russian developers from Battlestate Games arranged a partnership with the weapon manufacturer Kalashnikov to obtain high-quality recordings.

In Escape from Tarkov, what belongs together comes together. In this case, hardcore shooter gameplay and weapon sounds fresh from the gun. The developers of the hardcore shooter in the style of The Division (only harder!) contacted the weapon company Kalashnikov and managed to establish a partnership.

Fun and Games with Weapons

Consequently, some developers were allowed to travel to a special testing ground of the Kalashnikov company, where a large number of weapons and ammunition were available. Hours of shooting ensued, during which a variety of gun sounds were recorded. Therefore, the weapon sounds in Escape from Tarkov in the final version are likely to be very authentic.

In addition to the typical Kalashnikov assault rifles, there was a whole arsenal of other firearms available, including shotguns, submachine guns, and a big machine gun! A video of the joyful shooting has been embedded here. However, it is only available in Russian with English subtitles.
