Escape from Tarkov is very popular among streamers and viewers. Now the hardcore shooter is back at number 1 in the game charts on Twitch. And that thanks to the coveted Twitch Drops.
This is what’s happening: Currently, the hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov is experiencing a huge increase in viewers on Twitch. Over 200,000 fans are watching the streamers. This puts EFT at number 2 in the Twitch charts but at number 1 in the game charts. Only “Just Chatting” has about 25,000 more viewers.
Just at the beginning of June 2020, EFT broke its record with over 200,000 players online at the same time. At least that’s what the COO of Battlestate Games, Nikita Buyanov, says.
This is the reason for the current popularity on Twitch: The reason for the increase in viewers is the Twitch Drops. Selected streamers have Drops active, and simply by watching, players receive items like weapons, armor, or various rare items.
What you need to know about the Twitch Drops
The Twitch Drops have been active since June 11 at 11:00 AM
The event runs until June 22 at 11:00 AM
You can find a list of streamers on the official page. Pay attention to the note “Drops activated!”.
This is what to keep in mind: From June 11 to June 20, the Drops are active with 30 different streamers each day. In the last two days, until June 22, all 300 streamers will have the Twitch Drops active.
To receive the Drops, you need to own Escape from Tarkov and link your account with Twitch. Then you need to watch the active streamer of your choice and you will receive your item at certain intervals.
This is why the developers are holding this event: The Twitch Drops are not new in Escape from Tarkov. They always ensure that interest in the hardcore shooter grows significantly and that many old and new players log in. On one hand, this naturally leads to further player growth, but it also serves testing purposes.
Holding such events in the past has become an important reason for stress testing the game and has allowed us to make many changes and improvements to the project.
Battlestate Games
Many players log in at once, and this is the perfect time for the developers at Battlestate Games to test the game’s load. With the data and feedback from players, they can further improve EFT and advance development more quickly.
