The developers of the hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov have introduced two new weapons to the game. Just before the next wipe, this is a good opportunity to see what these weapons actually bring.
What have the developers introduced? On May 9, Battlestate Games added the Colt M1911 pistol and the Shpagin PPSh-41 submachine gun after a major update recently. This is quite important and interesting for the online shooter, as each new weapon can affect the balancing.
Two exciting new weapons
What does the Colt M1911 bring? The pistol was used by US soldiers in World War II and fires .45 ACP rounds, which are available to you in two variants. You can buy the weapon and the rounds from the trader Peacekeeper starting at level 2.
- .45 ACP FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) – These rounds are particularly effective against armored enemies. FMJ cartridges can usually penetrate level-3 visors.
- .45 ACP RIP – These rounds deal more base damage but do not penetrate armor as well. You will receive them once you have increased Mechanic to level 4.
What does the PPSh-41 bring? The Soviet submachine gun was also used during World War II. By the end of the war, the Soviet Union had produced more than six million of these weapons.
- It fires 7.62mm Tokarev rounds from a drum. These drums are difficult to obtain in the game. Horrendous prices are demanded on the market for them.
- You can obtain the weapon from trader Prapor starting at level 2.
- The Shpagin PPSh-41 causes very high damage, especially at close range. The submachine gun only fires accurately up to a distance of 150 meters.
Try them out before the wipe
Why you should take action now: You can now try both in the game. As a wipe will occur soon and then everything will be reset, this is now the ideal opportunity to try both new weapons in Escape from Tarkov. Then you can decide after the wipe which one suits you better and use those.
Both weapons were released to celebrate the victory over Nazi Germany, which explains why they are weapons from World War II.
