Escape from Tarkov: Arena has been available to the first players for a few days now, but there are already ways to leave the spawn early.
What is Escape from Tarkov: Arena? On Sunday, December 17, 2023, the Closed Beta of Escape from Tarkov: Arena (short EFT: Arena) started. This is a new arena shooter from Battlestate Games, set in the same fictional city as the popular extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov.
- The game can be played on PC and offers various modes that focus on PvP.
- Unlike Escape from Tarkov, which shaped the genre of extraction shooters and EFT-likes, you don’t need to collect loot or escape from the map in EFT: Arena.
- You compete, for example, in 5v5 modes for victory and do not carry loot as a reward out of the match.
The gameplay is therefore similar to other arena shooters like Call of Duty, but with the hardcore mechanics and gunplay of EFT.
If you want to take a look at the gameplay of EFT: Arena, you can watch the trailer here:
Why can players leave the spawn before the start? Unlike in CoD MW3, at the start of EFT: Arena you don’t see a short video sequence, but you are in a fenced area that opens after a short wait and lets you enter the battle.
The user “tibrX2” shared a video on Reddit where he successfully leaves the spawn area before the round actually starts.
The fence is actually a simple fence, as shown in the video, and is not complemented by an invisible barrier or similar that would normally prevent players from leaving the spawn before they should.
Accordingly, the Reddit user managed to overcome the fence in an extremely simple way with the help of a team member and move around the map early.
How can you play EFT: Arena? Battlestate Games is rolling out access to the Closed Beta of EFT: Arena in waves.
- The first wave gained access on December 17 and includes players who purchased the most expensive version of Escape from Tarkov, the “Edge of Darkness Limited Edition”, first.
- Also, those who pre-ordered EFT: Arena first will be given priority access.
While the pre-order of EFT: Arena costs 37.00 Euros, the “Edge of Darkness Limited Edition” of Escape from Tarkov is significantly more expensive at 155 Euros.
EFT: Arena and the extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov cannot be purchased via Steam or on consoles. You can find out more on MeinMMO: How can I play Escape from Tarkov and where can I buy it?
