Escape from Tarkov (EFT) is a popular shooter known for its hardcore gameplay. The new Arena mode is set to launch this weekend.
What is EFT: Arena? Escape from Tarkov: Arena will be a standalone game that, like its predecessor – the extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov – focuses on realistic weapon behavior and hardcore gameplay.
- The game will feature various PvP modes along with PvE content.
- The different maps offered by EFT: Arena are set in the fictional Russian city of Tarkov.
- At various gaming events, selected streamers and event guests have already had the chance to test the game. One mode in particular focuses on two teams of five battling against each other.
Also, EFT: Arena is playable again at the ongoing DreamHack Hannover 2023. There, the developer studio Battlestate Games showcased a trailer announcing the start of beta testing.

EFT: Arena: Closed beta release announced
When is the release of EFT: Arena? The closed beta for Escape from Tarkov: Arena starts on December 17, 2023. This was announced by Battlestate Games at DreamHack Hannover 2023 (via Twitch).
However, the start of the closed beta for Escape from Tarkov: Arena is comparable to a real release. As of today, the extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov is still only playable in a closed beta, for which you need to purchase access for at least 52 €.
How can you participate in the beta? Access to the beta for Escape from Tarkov: Arena will be granted in waves. To be invited to the beta, you need to be logged in on the official website Tarkov.Arena.com).
The first wave will consist of players who purchased the most expensive version of Escape from Tarkov, the “Edge of Darkness Limited Edition,” first. Additionally, those who pre-ordered EFT: Arena first will receive priority access (via Twitch).
What is the cost of EFT: Arena? You can pre-order EFT: Arena as a standalone game or gain access through the “Edge of Darkness Limited Edition” of Escape from Tarkov. Depending on which variant you choose, the price varies significantly.
