Escape from Tarkov: An hour of gameplay, reminiscent of “Fallout Online”

The upcoming shooter MMO Escape from Tarkov is becoming a highly interesting game. Now, about an hour of gameplay has been shown.

The developers held a live stream of the current version of Escape from Tarkov. In this, it is visible how the online game plays currently. So far, they have only shown some parts of the game, such as fights or how a house was searched. However, how everything plays together and what the vast world looks like as a whole could only be guessed until now.

Exploration and Battles

The video shows a large area of the game world around the fictional Russian city of Tarkov. The developers state that you can discover many secrets and find hidden places everywhere. The “Exploration” aspect is therefore not neglected in the game. It is even very important to explore the entire area, as this allows you to obtain important items such as ammunition, better weapons, food, bandages, and more. You should always be vigilant, as you can encounter enemies everywhere, which can lead to fierce firefights. In this regard, cover and teamwork play an important role.

The developers also explain that they have greatly improved the game. In addition to bug fixing, they worked on many new features and revised the netcode. Additional interaction options have been added, and the behavior of NPCs has also been overhauled. The interface, animations, sound system, and many visual effects were also improved. Especially interesting: There is no HUD while playing!

It is amazing how Escape from Tarkov reminds of a kind of online Fallout. The RPG elements and exploring the world work excellently with the shooter features. The video also shows that Escape from Tarkov can only be partially compared to The Division, although both games may look similar at first glance. Escape from Tarkov is developing into something of its own, an exciting hardcore RPG simulation with fast shooter battles and a focus on teamwork.
