A new game on Steam aims to take the stealth mechanic to a new level. With the abilities of the protagonist, MeinMMO author Linda Knabe has already been convinced.
What kind of game is this? Ereban: Shadow Legacy is a new 3D platformer from the indie studio Baby Robot Games, which will be released on April 10, 2024, on Steam. Especially due to a special ability of the protagonist, the game could stand out among many other platforms and elevate the stealth mechanic to a new level.
You take on the role of Ayana, the last member of an ancient people with mystical powers. Your goal is to uncover the truth about the past and find the solution to save the dying world.

What makes the game so interesting? Ereban: Shadow Legacy personally caught my attention with the first glimpse of the trailer. The protagonist has abilities that I always wished for as a child.
The idea of “shadow abilities” is certainly not incredibly new and innovative. In series, movies, or comics, there are always characters who can manipulate and control shadows. And in my opinion, those have always been the coolest characters.
In Ereban, however, the heroine uses her power in a slightly different way. She can penetrate into the shadows and travel through them. This provides the game with a lot of opportunities, especially in stealth gameplay.
Use the shadows to reach unreachable places
As the trailer already shows, you can use this ability to easily bypass your opponents or sneak up on them. Your movement is also much less restricted because of this. You can easily slide up walls or overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
You can even survive a potentially deadly fall easily if you disappear into the shadow on the ground in time. Even in combat, the heroine seems to skillfully use her powers. Whether you confront the fight or prefer to sneak through to the end is up to you.
Additionally, you should be able to collect so-called Echoes that unlock more deadly and useful shadow powers. You will also use highly developed gadgets that you can craft yourself and that will help you, combined with your skills, to infiltrate your enemies.
