The developer responsible for the USA, En Masse, has laid off employees. We have the details for you.
Mass Layoffs at TERA
According to the English-language site mmorpg.com, the western developer En Masse, which is responsible for Tera-US among other things, has recently experienced layoffs. In En Masse’s official statement, it says:
“The gaming industry moves quickly, is constantly evolving, and is always changing, which means that companies need to adapt from time to time to meet the needs of the market and the community. En Masse found itself in exactly this situation, and a reduction of the workforce was part of this transition in March to better prepare for the future.
We are saddened to let some of our employees go, but we will help them find new positions quickly. We will continue to expand our presence as a western publisher and support our games, such as TERA or the upcoming Battleplans, a unique real-time strategy hybrid that will be our company’s first cross-platform project.”
Whether and how significant the impact will be for TERA is still unclear. The exact number of laid-off employees is also unknown, making it difficult to say whether this is truly a “heavy blow” for TERA or just the usual adjustments in the industry.
