Elden Ring has been on the market for almost a year and players are now asking for a DLC. Therefore, we show you all the important information regarding a possible DLC, when it might be released, and especially where it could be located.
DLC for Elden Ring – When? Unfortunately, nobody knows for sure. Elden Ring celebrated its release on February 25, 2022. So it’s been almost a whole year and so far the developers behind Elden Ring have not revealed any information about an upcoming DLC. However, all Souls games from From Software, except Demon Souls, have received a DLC so far, as they have not only been desired by the community but have also been very successful.
Elden Ring is also part of a very successful project that could likely receive an expansion.
This is what the DLC for Elden Ring could look like
Everywhere on Twitter, YouTube, and reddit, players are discussing the possible DLC area. However, one theory remains strong and that is the mystery of the huge cloud east of Liurnia.
All existing Divine Towers are stationed around this cloud. Additionally, players with a glitch have managed to cross the sea to find out if something is located at this place.
Indeed, a square shadow was discovered on the sea, which only appears when one is near the cloud. It is therefore quite possible that From Software is using the cloud to hide the new DLC area or the entry to it.
Why could a DLC for Elden Ring take longer? Elden Ring is known to run on the same engine as these well-known titles from From Software:
- Bloodborne
- Sekiro
- Dark Souls 3
- Demon Souls
All titles are similar, but none come close to such a large open world as Elden Ring does. Therefore, the engine is also pushed to its limits. Stuttering, as well as other graphical bugs occur much more frequently as a result. It could therefore be that the developers are facing problems and that is why the development could take much longer than in a linear world, as is the case in Dark Souls 3.
Normally, From Software has taken half a year to a maximum of a whole year to build a DLC. However, for Elden Ring, we estimate the time to be at least one to a maximum of two years.
