In computer games, especially MMORPGs, food is primarily intended to obtain buffs – in Crowfall it serves another purpose.
If you don’t eat in Crowfall, you won’t starve, but there are still some disadvantages for you. Essentially, you are immortal in the MMORPG. During each campaign, you embody a “vessel” that you can change. The vessel can be destroyed in battles, but your soul continues to live. However, you must always take care of this vessel, for instance, by improving attributes. Or by eating something. Because your vessel needs food.
Eat or you will become weak
Through a display, you can see how hungry you are. If you don’t eat anything, the display drops and the “Chicken Barometer” falls. When the display reaches zero, you will turn into a “chicken.” However, this is not to be taken literally. You do not transform into a chicken. Rather, it signifies that due to the disadvantages you incur, you become weak and “cowardly” like a chicken. These disadvantages include:
Hunger bar below 70% – Your natural health and mana regeneration ceases.
Hunger bar below 30% – Your stamina regeneration stops, and you can no longer sprint for long.
Hunger bar below 10% – You take damage every 5 seconds until you reach 20% health. This will not kill you, but you will be pinned down at 20% health.
This means you should always keep your hunger bar at least at 70 percent. You must therefore always ensure that you regularly eat something. With this system, the developers of the MMORPG Crowfall aim to bring survival elements into the game. The food system will be deployed to the MMO’s test server this week.
