EA Sports FC will inherit FIFA 23 this year and usher in a new era. But does this also apply to the cover of the football simulation? We show you which players the community wants to see on the cover and who would be realistic.
We actually don’t know much about EA Sports FC, which is supposedly set to be released in the fall. Currently, there are no game modes or details about gameplay or other content known. We also don’t know if there will be a classic cover star again, as has always been the tradition in FIFA.
You can find the information we already have here:
FIFA 24 is called EA Sports FC – Everything we know about release, leagues, logo, and content
This is what the survey is about: With the assumption that there will be a cover star again, the FIFA site FIFAUTEAM has started a survey to find out which player fans would wish for the cover of the new title. So far (as of June 23), 8,149 fans have already participated in the voting.
We show you the current results and try to assess who could replace Kylian Mbappé and Sam Kerr.
Fans want to see familiar faces on the cover
These players are at the top of the fans’ list: Although the dominance of Ronaldo and Messi on the grand football stage is slowly coming to an end and both are no longer playing in the top leagues of Europe, the fans still have great sympathy for both.
They particularly want to see Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover of EA Sports FC. He is currently leading the survey (as of June 23) with 30%.
If he actually ends up on the cover, it would be a huge surprise since the Portuguese last graced the cover of FIFA 18.
In second place is Messi with 16% of the votes. It would be his 5th appearance on the cover of an EA title after his last cover on FIFA 16.
However, it is questionable whether EA Sports would really choose one of the two old stars as the cover star. After all, both have had the honor of being on the cover of various FIFA titles several times and due to their age and leagues, they no longer represent top football.
Places 3 and 4 are more realistic: Erling Haaland in third place in the survey seems significantly more realistic for an appearance on the cover of EA Sports FC. After all, the Norwegian broke several records last season at Manchester City and scored goals like on an assembly line. Seeing him on the cover of EA Sports FC would probably not surprise anyone.
However, it is also possible that we will see Kylian Mbappé on the cover again (4th place with 4%). This would make him a cover star of an EA football game for the third time in a row.
In summary, here are the top 5 candidates of FIFA fans for the EA Sports FC cover:
- Cristiano Ronaldo – 30 %
- Lionel Messi – 16 %
- Erling Haaland – 11 %
- Kylian Mbappé – 4 %
- Neymar – 3 %
Who would be the most realistic? It sounds most likely that EA will go for an absolute star player who shines with top performances. One could well imagine that Mbappé, Haaland, or Bellingham, who has just moved to Real Madrid, could be on the cover.
However, it is also possible that several players could adorn the cover and possibly a woman would be included again. We remain very curious and will show you the official cover as soon as it is known.
What do you think of the survey? Who would you like to see on the cover of FIFA successor EA Sports FC? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
